or you might even go a little bit higher, like 2.9 (compared to 2.8 stock 18'') all around, to protect the rim. I did it and it was perfect.

It is not the same noise, it's a much better one together with a turbo whisler all along the rev range. It is the best sound I've ever heared in an R32. As for the reliability issue, I am already 10 000 km and no problems what so ever, and believe me, I didn't drive her like my granny.
-
Try Dunlop SP Sport Maxx. They are ok performance wise, ok for noise and a lot cheaper than Michelin
-
Yes, but even with the 360 entry level kit you'll have to lower compression. This is the safe way to go when adding a turbo on a NA car.And I don't think they will ever come out with a 360 non-intercooled stage for MK5, due to some A/C lines or something
-
If you say so. You should know

Have you ever stood behind the wheel in a ST? Did you norice the build quality? Practicaly, the most important thing with a car is the way it makes you fell, and that is best underlined by the interior (way better in the R) and the way it drives, traction and everything (for me, way better the R). Thats only my 2 cents

The MK5 R32 is a way better all around car then the ST. And it is normal to be owned by an ST due to weight and turbo. BUt if you want to be one of the fastes out there and still drive the R32, put some cash into it, drop the missing turbo on top and there you go: rocket man

make sure and post some photos when you're done Good job

My car is great, ni problems what so ever. Just killed a Porsche 911 4S, which you can imagine that made my day.........and week
-
Everything fits pefect, man.
-
You took the words out of my mouth. Go turbo and you'll have all the torque you need
-
They are the only 19''wheels that fit the R32 without rubbing issues and look great. Go for it

From my short experience on this site, it seems that APS is indeed the way to go. I would go that route too if it was my case. Only one small problem though: I also have the rev limiter set to 7000. I know for a fact that going above 6500 rpm often will end up with a damaged DMFW, and that is even on a stock engine with the rev limiter set higher, not to speak about an engine with more hp on it.
-
Looks like is exactly how I predicted: the car is perfect and working fine. No problems what so ever, in fact I've just hit the highest speed you can reach with the stock gear: 290 km/h.
-
Yes, and it was because of the manifolds, not the cats.Too much free flow I think and no counter pressure. The SS might be a different matter, I say go for it.

There are some turbo kits out there that feel almost like a supercharger, only much more power. HPA/HGP
-
It might be posible at some point, the same as the new VW 1.4 TSI engine, only you need more space under the hood to fit everything. It will be nice though
-
Good luck BrakeSnake, hopefully sooner than later. You will enjoy every minute of your car, and if you think your car is fast now, as I did with mine, wait to see it with turbo at 400 hp You really must be a lot more carefull with the way you drive it then, it is not civilized at all

I really didn't try 0-100 because I still have the OEM clutch and I don't want to change it this year. I just want to do a few races against RS4 or Z4 M from the second or third gear up. On HPA site they say 3.8 sec 0-100 but it refers to MK4 which is lighter. I think I am somewhere arround 4.5 with a perfect start. I don't know about 3000 km in 2 days, I only know that I didn't do the install in my country and I needed to come home after installation. I did 1700 km in 20 hours non stop driving, with 10-15 min fuel station stops, with all kind of driving speeds, from 30 to 120 km/h overtakes to 180-250 km/h highway speeds. Second day I did only 500 km to get to Bucharest, that was another 6 hours driving. I didn't have ANY problems what so ever, fuel cons aside , if anything the car kept on performing better and better. I really don't have anything to gain by prazing HPA, and I am one of the most carefull guy out there when it comes to my baby, but this turbo is indeed the best thing I could have ever do tuning my car and the support I got from HPA team during all this period is something I have never seen elsewhere. And yes, I did lose the excellent sound my full Milltek had, but believe me when I say that the turbo whoosh I hear now is 100 times better, at least for me.

Hi guys. I think there will be NO FT360 for MK5 platform, due to some A/C lines that can't be redirected. I already have 3000 km on my FT400 and it is GREAT. It really is as advertised, the car feels exactly OEM when accelerating, but with lots and lots of more power Until now, there isn't one thing I can complain about and hopefully will never be one. One thing though: you really need good brakes, don't keed yourself to think that the stock will do And maybe the transmount bushing, since with the new 530Nm the engine moves a lot. In my oppinion, FI is the best and only way to tune this amazing car, the rest is not worth the money. This is just me, please don't
-
I have the full Milltek on my 2006 R32. I've started with just the cat-back and it sounded great after 500 miles. The sound is even better with the manifolds and cats, V8 like, but in my oppinion you do loose something along the way. With the cat-back I was able to get to 270 km/h. With the Millteks only arround 260 km/h, same conditions. The best way to go is cat-back AND cats, but since they don't sell the cats without the manifolds, stay with the cat-back. The problems lies with the shape of the manifolds, too straight, and the VR6 engine needs a little back pressure from the manifolds. Maybe with a special ECU upgrade the problem goes, but that takes a lot of testing and fine tuning I think. That's only my oppinion.

I've seen that. Unfortunatelly, is not for sell. My best friend has a new 2007 RS4 and his first thoughts were to buy the supercharger from MTM. They already blown 3 RS4 engines with the SC and they will not sell it at least for the next year or so, if ever. Also SKN wanted to develop a supercharger for the RS4, but they stopped the development process due to the fact that the RS4 internal parts are very very light (in order for a V8 to get to 8400 rpm) and they will not withstand the additional boost. You can check all these with MTM or SKN. So , my friend just settled for the carbon fiber hood from MTM,full Milltek and maybe ceramic brakes. So much for tuning an RS4.

Yes, and maybe you didn't drive an MK5 R32 with race Haldex upgrade. Is a different car all together. Combine that with bi-turbo or even just turbo , V3 KW suspension, ARB's and big brakes, and believe me, you will not even see the RS4 in the rear view mirror. Don't forget that R32 is almost 200 kg lighter than RS4. In this case, you are right, you can't compare the 2 cars - RS4 is no game for tuned up R32. And believe me, you will run against an RS4 on the public road more often than on the track, or at least that's the case in Bucharest, where there are 15 RS4 and counting. So, you beat the RS4 in drag racing, you beat it running from whatever gear you want, maybe he will have a small chance on the track, depending on the R32 setting, so where is that car so much better to pay that much for it period? Don't get me wrong, is a great car and maybe I will buy one when I'm done with tunning my cars. Thats all
