Was trying to run it on my IBM thinkpad T23 with Windows 2k. But have just tried it on my ancient thinkpad 310 (Win 98 with a massive 16Mb of RAM!!) and after autoscan finishs with the first module I get a message telling me to register the software. (which was what I expected) So I guess there must be something running on my newer machine thats conflicting with it. Think i'll just stick with the old machine for now (unless anyones got any idea's about the new one) Thanks for your help.

sk, I'm using the X-One interface with version 409.1-S and when I run autoscan I get an interface not ready message (see attachment) - seems as if it isn't closing the first module completely before it tries to open the next. I've just managed to get the same error by closing one module and going into another straight away. But if I leave it a couple of seconds its fine. Any ideas? (by the way, thanks for the speedy delivery of the interface)

Thanks for the replies. No, its not a genuine cable (but came from skpang.co.uk, and I've heard of a lot of people using their cables without any problems) Think I might just register it and see what happens.

I've heard good things about the Toyo T1-S. Had a set fitted on the weekend, but haven't really had a chance to test them out properly yet.

Just tried to run an autoscan using my shareware version of VAG-COM but I get a comms error when it tries to connect to the second module (does the first module OK). Checked the ross-tech site and auto-scan is not available in the shareware version, but the error seems a bit odd (other features that aren't available give a popup box saying its because its the shareware version) Has anybody else seen this? - I'm thinking of registering the software but don't really want to if I still wont be able to run an autoscan.

forgot to say - you can get it to re-route you if theres traffic build up, but as far as I know you have to manually put in how far the congestion is. (could be wrong, I've only had the car a couple of months and haven't got stuck in traffic where I don't already know another route!)

Sorry David, didn't realise you were talking about the 8P. As Paul said earlier, i'd get an Audi dealer to give you a demo - as far as I know the satnav should be the same in all the new models. Jazz, Yes the audi satnav does display directions in the DIS. Fortunatly I managed to find an S3 that already had the satnav/tv fitted so I dont know exactly whats involved in doing a retro fit, I think theres some posts on it on here or maybe audi-sport.net. People seem to say that the aftermarket units (tomtom etc) are better than the audi satnav and a lot cheaper, but obviously the installation isn't as tidy as an OEM unit. If you haven't found an S3 yet and really want the satnav I'd be tempted to hunt around for one thats already got it fitted, I doubt it will put the asking price up by as much as its going to cost you to do a retro fit. Theres some audi satnav info here http://www.nav-plus.com/instructions/ - i think its an american site so there wont be anything on the a3/s3

David, I've got sat nav with bose in mine. Can't do you a video but could take some photos if thats any help. what is it that you want to see, just the dis or the sat nav screen as well?

Thanks guys I was thinking about clearing them but wasn't sure if they would get re-recorded if there was still a problem. But from what you both say it sounds like they will.

Hi all, its my first post here and i'm after a bit of help. My engine management light has come on again on my S3 (Second time this month) just plugged vag-com in and got the following errors:- 17863 - Exhaust Gas Temp Sensor 1 (G235): Implausible Signal P1455 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent 17704 - Shareware Version. To Decode all DTCs P1296 - 35-00 - Please Register/Activate Its been a bit of a long month, so haven't had the £'s to upgrade from the shareware version, but from what i've found the 17704 is "Cooling system malfunction" Anybody got any suggestions?
