hi, im near stansted airport, Braintree to be exact... Yeah its been squeeking since july and the light came on the other day with a message saying ABS fault. So when you plug the VAG-COM into my car, what will happen? will it tell you where the fault is? Whats the point of it if i already know that the fault is with the ABS or does this system give more details as to what is exactly wrong with it? Hello, i was driving to work today (vw golf gt tdi) and a warning message came up saying ABS fault and now its got a symbol lit up on the dash. The car was squeeking for a while when i turned left as if something was catching. This only happened after the car was stationary for 2 weeks when i was on holiday in july. If it is just the brakes catching on the discs or something like that would the warning message come up or would it definatley be something wrong with ABS? As you can imagine im quite worried that im gonna have to fork out hundreds of pounds.. Sorry but i dont have a scooby doo cheers, nicola

Hello Im thinking of getting a body kit for my car. I have been looking around and most of them come unpainted. I was wondering if anyone knows any good websites of advice about how to paint it? My car is black and im worried that if i spray the body kit its gonna look a different colour to the car cause its 5 yr old and obviously the paint isnt as good as it was when new. Hello, i got a VW GOLF GT TDI (115) 2000 model. I got it chipped by superchips in chelmsford. Its increased the bhp to about 145 and the difference is unbeliveable. I got it done in march and had no problems. The guy who did it knows his stuff, it could be worth giving him a ring... Superchips also say that if their chips damage your engine the will pay to get it fixed. nicola

Hello, i have recently taken the factory fitted radio out from my golf and put in a kenwood cd player. the problem i have is that you can still see the metal casing of the radio around the sides and it looks tacky. Its as if it needs an extra bit that goes around the edge of the cd player to finish it off. Has any one got any ideas where i can get something like that or is it not possible? the cd player is 2nd hand, maybe it originally came with something like that??? please help, thanks, nicola

Hi I went to a garage today and the mechanic took a look at it. Anyway he found why i was loosing coolant. There is a hole in the radiator. Gonna have to get some Radseal then get it sorted. I hope this is all it is. Reckons it would cost bout 80 quid for radiator and 60 quid labour. Nico

Hello, i got some coolant from VW its a nice pink colour. I topped up my coolant. I feel now though that im driving on egg shells and my car is going to suddenly come to a halt cause the head gasket has gone. Is there any other signs that i could look for to see if its on its way out? i have checked the oil and its at the right level and it looks ok (quite dark). No gunk under the oil cap. (what colour would this be if there was?) thanks guys, nicola

Hi guys, Well im back again, it was only a bout a week and a half ago i was on here asking about my window that fell in the door. Well, this morning i was just driving down my street and a big warning sign come on the computer saying STOP!! i thought oh my god what now. It was flashing and saying check coolant.. Well im just guessing that i must be low on coolant. I dint even know that the coolant had to be topped up. does it???? The car is 5 year old and its been recently chipped so i was thinking maybe the engine uses more coolant now.. I dunno, hopefully ill just have to fill the coolant up.. Anyone agree with me? Hi again! I eventually got my car window fixed, i took it to a breakers yard near me. The plan was to just buy the clips then i thought oh i cant be bothered faffing with it so they fixed it for £90. Bloody rip off!!! Had to be done.. Nico

Hello Well, after a long discussion with VW they quoted me £150 to fix the window. They wouldnt pay half or anything like that. I wish id never got this car its given me trouble since day one... Got the car in Jan (its a 4 year old GT TDI 150 Golf): 1. The brake light switch went within a month of getting it £50 2. The alternator wires came loose which made the engine management light flash £109 3. The rear wiper leakes in the boot (still not fixed) 4. The car got towed from outside my house, nothing to do with VW but still cost me £500 to get back 5. Now the bloody window has fell in the door, i just cant belive it. I bought a citroen ax when i was at uni it cost me £350 quid never had any trouble with it over the 3 years, think i might get rid of the golf.. Nicola

Hi everyone! Had a nightmare today. The passenger side window has fell insode the door and when i switch the electric window on i can hear the motor turning. Anyone know how to get it out? or is it expensive to fix? I know obviously i gotta remove the door panel but is it worth me having a go or best just gettin vw to do it? Any help on this situation would be greatly appreciated, asap cause its pouring sown outside and i dont wanna leave it too long! thanks nicola
