Quick question - instead of paying Audi the best part of £600 for the Sat Nav SD card, could I simply slot in and use a genuine Audi SD card as advertised on eBay, or will it need dealer involvement?

Used the A1 to do a round trip again to Scotland from Surrey. For a small car it really done the trip well, but must admit if it didn't have the 2.0tdi I would think twice about doing this journey, and as a bonus at points of the journey I was getterg 80mpg, plus again I got their on one tank of fuel, which is about £45. Really do rate this little car.

Over the past 8 years I've mostly had RS audis but now we have an Audi A1 2.0 TDI for a while, only had the car a week but had to shoot to Scotland over the weekend and this car got from London to Dundee on a single tank of fuel, I found this quite impressive as I know the fuel tanks are quite small I think 45 litres but to get 500 miles from a single tank I think is quite good. But also I actually enjoyed the drive, it is almost fully loaded so did help with the journey having the Bose, cruise control and sat nav etc, but I really like this little car and just eats the miles on the motorway.

If you were surprised Audi chose to forgo the S1 nameplate for the top-spec version of the A1 premium hatch, hold on to your hats, because the rumour mill is spinning up again. This time, reports direct from Germany suggest that Ingolstadt may choose to skip the S1 altogether and go straight to the top with a new RS1. The move would necessitate the adaptation of the A1's chassis to accommodate all-wheel drive as previously reported, with power potentially coming from the same 2.0-litre TFSI engine found in the Volkswagen Golf GTI, and the Mini Cooper JCW in its sites. A series of visual upgrades would undoubtedly distinguish the RS1 from its more pedestrian stablemates, with reports tipping its arrival for early 2012. The Audi A1 1.4 TFSI (136 kW) - Audi presents new top engine version for the Audi A1 at the Paris Motor Show - 1.4 TFSI engine with 136 kW (185 hp) and 250 Nm (184.39 lb-ft) - Fuel consumption of 5.9 l/100 km (39.87 US mpg), CO2 emissions of 139 g/km (223.7 g/mile) INGOLSTADT, Germany, Sep 20, 2010 - The Audi A1, the premium car among the small compacts, has been a major success following its market debut. And now Audi is presenting the new top version – the A1 1.4 TFSI (136 kW). Its taut chassis provides sporty handling, while the dual-charged 1.4 TFSI delivers 136 kW (185 hp) of power and the S tronic dual-clutch transmission comes standard. The A1 1.4 TFSI (136 kW) also impresses with groundbreaking efficiency, consuming on average just 5.9 liters of fuel per 100 km (39.87 US mpg), which corresponds to CO2 emissions of just 139 g/km (223.70 g/mile) (provisional figures). The A1 1.4 TFSI (136 kW) has a confident appearance. The single-frame grille, the striking roof arch, the flat C-pillar, the wrap-around engine hood and luggage hatch and the tornado line show its sporty potential even when it is at a standstill. The A1 1.4 TFSI (136 kW) has a compact, lightweight engine with four valves per cylinder. This produces an impressive 136 kW (185 hp) and 250 Nm (184.39 lb-ft) of torque. The sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) takes just 6.9 seconds, and the top speed is 227 km/h (141.05 mph) (performance figures are provisional). The spontaneous response and high propulsive power, even at high speeds, are achieved thanks to its special concept – a combination of supercharger and turbocharger. The supercharger springs into action at 1,500 rpm and in most situations is disengaged at 2,400 rpm. From 3,500 rpm at the latest, the turbocharger does all the work. Because it doesn't have to do as much work at the low end of the rev range, the developers were able to use a large turbo and design it for high efficiency. The 1.4 TFSI combines efficiency and dynamics. It uses on average just 5.9 liters of fuel per 100 km (39.87 US mpg) and emits 139 g CO2 per km (223.7 g/mile) (consumption figures are provisional). These excellent numbers are the product of the FSI concept, the dual charging system and also technologies from the modular efficiency platform. The standard seven-speed S tronic transmission directs the power of the 1.4 TFSI to the front wheels. The high-end transmission is very short and light. The seven-speed S tronic is composed of two transmission structures which are operated by two multi-plate clutches. The shifting process takes place in just a few hundredths of a second and with no detectable interruption of pulling power. The tall seventh gear reduces fuel consumption. The McPherson construction at the front and the torsion-beam rear suspension with separate springs and dampers form the basis for agile handling. The Audi A1 1.4 TFSI (136 kW) turns in spontaneously, takes corners quickly and stably, and accelerates out of them with sure-footed grip. The brakes have the potent performance under control. The ventilated front discs measure 288 millimeters (11.34 in) in diameter. Another specialty that comes standard for the chassis is the ESP stabilization program with electronic limited slip differential. When the system detects an impending loss of traction at the inside wheel during fast cornering, it initiates very brief braking of that wheel. There is a comprehensive range of equipment. The safety package comprises two front airbags, thorax/pelvic side airbags and curtain head airbags. Belt tensioners and belt force limiters plus the Audi integral headrest system round out the package. Isofix child seat anchor points in the rear are standard. Many of the options come directly from the luxury class. These are the xenon plus headlights with LED daytime running lights, the LED tail lights, the LED interior lighting package, the high-beam assistant, the light and rain sensor, the panoramic sunroof, the convenience key with the start-stop button, two navigation systems and a 465 watt Bose surround sound system with 14 speakers. Finally, manual and automatic air conditioning systems plus heated front seats are optionally available. The Audi A1 1.4 TFSI (136 kW) will be launched toward the end of the year at a price of €24,250. In addition to S tronic, its standard specification contains a wide range of highlights: Ambition equipment line, 17-inch wheels, S line exterior package, manual air conditioning, additional mono.pur colored interior elements, black headlining and the LED interior light package.

Some of you will be disappointed by the announcement of the Audi A1 1.4 TFSI 185hp, and the BS posted by car mags , simply because the symbol S1 has not been used. However, a search among the original spare parts codes will give you new hope, the S1 badges are ready. At this point we assume the arrival of an even more sporty model or the realisation of a simple accessory kit? Sure, the S1 should be able to rely on four wheel traction as other "S", so it may just be the version of the all-wheel drive 185hp 1.4 TFSI S-Tronic gearbox, but there is some speculation about the arrival of 2.0 TFSI engine. or have I just spent the morning playing with photoshop

It's (semi) official; Audi has listed the S1 as one of the cars it will reveal at this month's Paris Motor Show. While Ingolstadt has not yet confirmed any technical details on the go-fast version of the A1 premium supermini, sources state that it will be powered by the same 1.4-litre TSI turbocharged engine found under the hood of the Polo GTi. It is possible that Audi may tweak the four-cylinder unit to produce a few ponies than the 180HP it returns on the VW model. The S1 will also get the usual performance parts such as larger wheels and wider tyres, upgraded suspension and brake system bits, as well as a styling package similar to the S-Line trim. The new hot hatch from Audi should go on sale in Europe sometime next year. What this space for photo's from the show

The distinguishing features of the hot hatch are lowered suspension, alloy wheels of large diameter, the rear wing and dual exhaust. The Audi S1 will officially debut during the 2011 and like other hot hatch Group - Volkswagen Polo GTI , Seat Ibiza Cupra and Skoda Fabia RS - will be equipped with the 1.4 TSI engine from 180 hp, matched with the S tronic gearbox to 7 relations.

Just like the BMW Group did with its MINI-branded cars, Audi is planning to offer an amazing amount of customization options and packages for its new entry-level A1 model including the S-Line sport kit which is expected to be one of the most popular options amongst buyers. Seen here for the first time in official photos, the S-Line kit comprises of two separate packages. The S-Line Exterior package sweetens up the A1's looks with chiseled sill tops, a larger roof spoiler, a more concave front bumper with side air-vents and a new rear bumper with a diffuser and matte optics. The second kit is called S-Line Sport Package and it adds 17- or 18-inch alloy wheels, a sport suspension with dynamic suspension tuning, leather-wrapped sport steering wheel and sport seats. And no, none of the available packages offer any performance upgrades for the four engines (two petrols with 86HP and 122HP, and two diesels with 90HP and 105HP) and that will be available at the A1's launch.

According to a report out of Italy, Audi boss Rupert Stadler has said that the Audi A1 e-tron concept will not see production. Apparently the house of Audi believes that the conventional A1 will be sufficiently frugal and kind enough on the environment with its stop/start and brake energy recovery system. Additionally, there seems to be some issues with the A1's platform and its ability to house all the necessary EV components. If true, 'tis a shame – that cargo-floor-mounted ****el engine paired with lithium-ion batteries was supposed to be good for 154 mpg.

Yep if you want to go and order a new Audi A1 they can take official orders within Audi from today in the UK. So who is the first person to own one, after a recent change of plan on the car front for us I might go and have a look at one. Will upload a press release when I get chance for those that might be interested.
