Hello i realy need help with my 2000 golf mk4 tdi it has central locking and global locking but does not have a remote fob. I cannot lock the car and when i try all the windows come down any ideas why? ive tried holding the key in the lock direction which brings the windows back up and locks the car but as soon as i take the key out it unlocks and the windows go back down. im getting nowhere and my vw dealer wants to change me £63 plus vat to look at it and they want me to get a spare key as i only have 1 and want to charge me £130 for that! regards jack -
I know similar questions have been asked before but not sure if i have come across my exact answer. I have a 1996 (B5) A4 1.9TDi I already have central locking but am looking at installing an aftermarket remote central locking unit. can any one give me clues on wires and colours i need to look out for when installing this. i know where the central locking pump is located and this is a single vacum pump type. the system i am looking to install is the VT500TWL keyless entry system. Any help would be appreciated+++

Hi all..hope i can get some of your expert advice please.. audi a4 1996 p reg model 1.8 Issues: 1*when locking the door the central locking pump seems slow (whirs quite a bit,3 secs?) and the doors are sluggish to lock 2*When i lock the car the horn beeps once quietly and the alarm will start blairing after 10 mins or so then stop then start again 10 mins repeat repeat.. so i have to leave it unlocked..(dont have a key fob,just normal key) 3*When i start the car,if i turn the ignition off then try to restart it the car won't start..it fires up then goes off afer 2 seconds.. I have to take out the key and re insert it to make the car start again 4*when i'm idle the car nearly cuts out when stood still (rpms dip intermintently nearly stalling) bought the car a few days ago..hope you guys can help if possible..cheers :confused:
