  1. Hi all I have the following issue, which my delaer and VW South Africa have indicated to be "by design". Was wondering whether this indeed was fact or fiction? What is happening is that the natural airflow coming via the vents seems to be coming through at the temperature at which the aircon was set at on last use. Meaning, say I run the aircon at 29 deg, arrive at my destination switching the car off without switching the aircon off. The next time I drive the car, the air coming thru will be warm, until I switch the aircon on, adjust the temperature to cool and switch off again. What I have been told is that should you switch the ignition off before switching the aircon off, the temperature flaps remain in their last setting. Also, next time you the car these temperature flaps still remain in the same place? I need some clarification whether this is normal or a possible issue? Stephane
  2. Hi Yesterday I noticed the engine in my 06 GTI DSG vibrates at idle RPM. The RPM is steady, but the whole care shakes when standing still ... Performance doesn't seem to be affected, car now has 35k miles. Also noticed the air intake at the right side of the engine is lose ( happened before ). Have an appointment at stealer thursday, but thought I might ask here what the problem could be. TIA Oliver Belgium
  3. Hi, I have a J reg golf mrk2 8 valve, i can get it to start and she idles at the usual revs but wont rev up unless left running with the throttle open for a good 10 or 15 mins, then as soon as you let off the throttle it dies back to idle revs again and no response from the throttle. Oh and this happened over night, it rained extremely heavily, then i used a little wd 40 which always used to do the trick ! Ive changed the plugs, distro cap, rotor arm, fuel filter, air filter but no change. please help !!!! cheers Dan

  5. Front right of car, 'Jangling', low-medium volume, noticed at low speeds when car drawing up to lights or after speed hump, especially when clutch depressed. Has been around for last 3-4 months without warning lights appearing, or combustion of car!, perhaps getting a little louder if anything.Oh yeah its also really annoying. Local dealer has seen the car 4 times, steering rack replaced under warranty but no change in noise. Last visit went for a ride with technician who seemed pretty sure it was suspension bushes, but when car picked up after 'extensive road tests' this was discounted. They have sent a diss (?) notice to VW australia for further diagnosis. What do you reckon? Advice wanted before they begin to randomly replace engine components.
