Same old problem, car stalls every time the revs drop. I have cleaned the throttle body but this time it hasn't fixed it. Have had the engine completely rebuilt recently due to the good old piston ring problems. Have hooked it up to the diagnosis machine at my friends garage and get fault code 00282 throttle position actuator. I'm unsure if this means that I have to replace the throttle body, the idle valve or something else. I also wondered if stripping the throttle body down futher would help, so far I have stripped the throttle body off the car but haven't stripped it to bits. What does it mean to reset thethrottle body? :ffs:

Hi Guys, new here and yes i have a problem... hope you can help / advise. I have a tdi 90 mk4 golf. and recently it started behaving very oddly. At start it is extremely slow, like the turbo isnt workign at all. I have to rev the engine to about 3.5k revs and suddenly the turbo feels like it has kicked in and power is restored. I have to do this every time i start and stop the car. However, when the power is restored it is still not as it was and i struggle to go up steep hills and excelleration is alot worse thatn it was. Is there somethign obvious i need to change or look at? any help appreicated before i start taking it apart and cleaning changing oil etc. I'm thinking it's a MAF issue, ECU and or turbo problem. Thanks for reading Benza:cool:
