Hi I was driving my AUDI A4 2008 today and my Driver Information System Display turned off. It stayed like this for the rest of the journey, and half way through the journey home. I am new to this car so don't know if I did something to make this happen, have been playing with the steering wheel controls and general button pushing. Does anyone know if it is possible to turn the display on and off? Has anyone had an issue with their display. My DIS is a colour version and is linked to an RNS-E. Any help would be great, Thanks -
Hi - I am buying an A4 Cab (June 2009 2.0 TDI Final Edition) and will pick it up later this week. I was wondering whether anyone can help me with the following: 1. Is there a defined set of standards for the 'Approved Used' Audi. It would be good to have a look and see what the dealership should have complied with, so we know all is well. 2. It is fitted with a GSM phone prep (in the centre armrest). Is this bluetooth? or do I need to either find the right cradle for the phone or have a bluetooth unit fitted? There is no cradle installed at present. 3. It has the RNS-E Satelite Navigation plus. The software is 2009. Am I correct in thinking the 2010 software should have been out then? or will I need to buy new discs. Is there much a different between 09 and current versions? 4. For the RNS-E above I was thinking about having a reverse camera fitted. My wife is not confident with a larger car and this would improve her enjoyment of it. Is this relatively straightforward and does anyone know of an ICE Technican who could do this in or close to Birmingham? 5. and you all say finally I have got a set of Audi S5 chrome/aluminium mirrors. These are the ones with the clear LED indicators. Can these be fitted and made to fold electrically, or just too much hassle? Apologies for all the questions on my first posting. Just very excited to be getting the car and already thinking about how to improve and get the most out of it. All help and advice gratefully received.

Hi guys, I am new to this forum and I think this forum is just awesome. I recently bought a 07 RS4 Avant and I had quite some fun out that beast. Just one thing it is botherring a bit- the factory GenII+ symphony system. I am not saying it is bad as a CD player but for a car at this price without a multi-meida system it's just unacceptable. I dont know why all here in New Zealand, most RS4s I've seen are not equipped with the RNS-E. Maybe no road map for this model? Anyway, I am planning on replacing the symphony with the RNS-E. Just need to get some basics right: 1. If I buy an RNS-E from ebay and get a New Zealand map for it, will I be able to use it? 2. I saw people are talking about the 'Codes' in many other threads, what is it? 3. What is the reasonable price for an RNS-E? Thanks in advance guys!! Cheers
