Ian_C
Wednesday 3rd October, 7:30pm for 8pm at the Caldecotte Arms, Milton Keynes. Last of the British summertime meets before we revert to every other month throughout the winter. Provisional plan is to skip November and hold meets December, February before going back to monthly from April onwards. Any enthusiast is welcome. Alongside the usual Audis - the undoubted highlight being a D3 S8 V10 - last month we had a Lancia Stratos replica running an Alfa Romeo 3.0 V6, a 1987 VW Caddy pick-up running a B5 S4 V6 biturbo and a Vauxhall VX220 that appears to have come straight from the pit lane at Silverstone. September's photographs in the gallery. Potential MK meet newbies please post below so we can look out and welcome you! Feel free to send a pm if you are a little wary of turning up on your own, not sure which faces to look for etc. Location wise, the Caldecotte Arms pub is off a dual carriageway - look for the Windmill! With attendance back on the up, in recent months we have been totally unmissable. scooby_simon
I'll try, but it is utter lunacy in The City at the moment !
techieboy
Might not be able to do this one. Currently booked to be in Chester for a couple of days but will see if I can re-arrange.
techieboy
Sorted. Managed to rearrange some interviews in Chester to Tues/Weds and not Wed/Thurs so I'll be there, fresh from the M6 & M1
Ian_C
Ahh well done. You'll be in the Audi for the commute, but the VX is no doubt hibernating anyway. Distinctly quattro weather outside! Ian
techieboy
Yep will certainly be the Audi this time. VX hibernating? Nah, I've still got 4 more trackdays booked before the end of the year. Had a 6am roof off blast the other morning as it was dry (sunny but bloody cold). Great fun and really invigorating. Took a bit longer to warm up the R888's though.

Have to confess, there is simply nothing else like a dawn raid. Did a 5am midsummer Sunday blitz this year around Beds, Bucks, Northants and Cambs. Zero traffic. Epic fun. fudge
Looks good for Wednesday. Might bring the Merc if it is still hood-down weather - or does that seem very unlikely? Was in Washington DC last week with temps in the mid-80s. UK is distinctly cold.
Ian_C
Could do Richard, although bear in mind that it will be pretty dark by 7:30pm - even if sunset was under a perfect blue sky. Ian
nikw
I should be stepping on to a plane in Oslo just around the time you lot are meeting up, so I'll have to content myself with an obscenely expensive airport beer. Enjoy the steaks!
Botang
I should be there, hopefully Firepro wont try and kill me this time

Ian_C
Quick reminder to people to avoid Jct 14 over the M1! Carnage a fortnight ago going up to Buxton - I spun around, drove across MK to the A5 and up the 508 to Northampton in the end. Would advise anyone coming from the north to look ahead for a big queue on the J14 slip road and be prepared to stick on the M1 and take J13. Anyone coming from Bedford, I'd stay on the A422 into MK and certainly avoid the A509 from Newport Pagnell over J14. Botang, any comments or thoughts? You drive for a living and are always clued up on what's going on with the roads. Ian
scooby_simon
looking a little boubtfull for me; I'm just recovering from the cold of much doom; Wifee has just got it!
Botang
It depends on the time of day as to which route I would take. I'd advise anyone coming from the north to leave the M1 at J15 and follow the A508 to the A5 as you said, from the south I think I'd have exited at J13 anyway.
