nordberg
I'm stuck in an A6 for a couple of weeks while mine is in for repair. I love the MMI but am struggling to get my phone paired with it. Am I right to assume that it have bluetooth by default if the MMI shows Bluetooth options? Cn anyone give me a step by step guide to pairing my phone with it? When I try to discover the car kit from the phone, it finds nothing.
craigyb
Two options. Press the TEL button and see what it says 1. Telephone Not installed (or similar) means you do not have a phone system. 2. Your telephone may not be connected (or similar) means you do have a phone system and it pairs like any other Audi. Insert the key and then search from your phone to find the Audi UHV device. Pairing code is 1234.
nordberg
Thanks, will give it a try. It's got the phone prep in the armrest so I assume it is setup for it.
Melchior
Mines got the built in Audi GSM phone with the Audi/motorola handset in the armrest. This Audi handset pairs with the carphone using bluetooth. If this is what you have then you will have bluetooth menu options (for pairing the Audi handset) but you won't be able to use your own mobile. craigyb
Ah, if you had said you had the Motorola phone in the armrest I could have told you straight away you are wasting your time.
oxfordlad
Damn, I have been looking at this for my dad in his car... (A6 sline). Looks like it is a no hope then I got the nokia to pair with it for a bit, then it fails in the latter stages. shame as his work will not give hima duplicate sim card rendering it a useless feature! Andy_Bangle
A couple of points that worked for my SE phone - Make sure that the MMI is using the last update and the phone handset also has the most up to firmware. My SE 810 would not connect to the MMI (running the latest s/w) I tried everything - then updated the firmware on the handset and as if by magic - it all worked! mas66
If anyone is interested Orange have a service called singlenumber, whereby they will provide a duplicate SIM for use on a secondary device so you can leave one in your car. I believe this is only available at the moment to business customers. Mark
craigyb
No, if you have the cradle plate in teh arm rest then you are ok. It's only people with the motorola handset in the arm rest that have issues.
