Thank you. So you travel?

Afraid not.

We used to, but too many cowboys started buying poor equipment and poor files, and then offering a mapping service. We have now steered away from this.

If you go down the mobile route, just ensure its a reputable company 169144-ok.gif

I've been recommended Simtis.... http://www.simtis.com/

Chap seams to know which way round the world rotates, so think I'll go for it.

Just waiting to hear when it can be done.

My car had a MAJOR iDrive update when they installed the iPOD interface (taking ~6hours)... but I may wait till the first service is done, so it's all ready for the upgrade.

Hi i have had my 03 BMW 330D remapped today, what a difference !!!

Car runs really smooth and is so much more powerful, it pulls like a train and also sounds better (not sure why exactly). I had spent a couple of weeks looking into various companies / options and decided in the end to go to P-Torque, spoke to Will over the phone and he was very helpful and explained the pit falls of some of the options i had considered, have only had the car done today, but did notice better MPG on my return journey from Wolverhampton, this was with more aggresive driving also !!

No smoke at all from the back end (appart from the tyres !), which was a concern i had, if you are thinking of remapping a BMW 330D talk to Will, he is very informative and offers a very fair price

Because it is not got enough brain power to do it, it is getting very advanced to do all that, the REVO dongle is the same, Audi said straight away when I took mine in "Oh, so you have chipped your car then?"

Luckily I knew the tech well, and he said they had no problem with it themselves, however the problem now is the computers talk back to Germany when you plug them in, this is so they can check your car has not been tampered with, all decisions whether to give the go ahead on warranty work will no longer be made by your local friendly dealer.

If as you say; this is the case, what if any way forward is there, for a "Safe Remap"?.

Can the BMW service dept see your map change, if done via "Direct imprint" to the Board?.

BMW are meant to start offering a remap programme themselves, this is why they are getting tighter with their ECU encryption.

At what price though is anyones guess?

We may not even see it in the UK, may just be Europe and the States.

This still did not give your opinion on the remaps and weather or not thay can easily be seen. 169144-ok.gif
