Abs
Hello all, I don't know whether it's just me, but I feel that my brakes are just not sharp enough. Visually, the pads seems to be about half worn. The brake fluid also got replaced last month. They just feel fairly soft, no "bite" in them... I know it sounds pretty vague, but is this normal for such a powerful car? Or do I need to replace something? Cheers
Jools
I thought exactly the same when i first got mine, so much so i got a friend who worked for Audi to drive it and hopefully tell me something was wrong. Nothing wrong with the brakes came the reply. When the pads needed changing i changed the discs as well. Pads i used EBC red stuff @ £95 and Brembo Sport Drilled Discs @ £280, what a difference. Totally transformed the car, been on the car for 6 months now and no problems.
Abs
I was looking at the red stuff pads, and am definately thinking of getting them. Are the discs necessary? Or can I simply replace the pads for the EBC ones? Also, did you change the front and rear pads, or just the front?
Botang
I have red stuff front and rear but I should think the rears wouldnt make much difference. You can use the pad with standard discs, I actually went for the standard style EBC discs which I have been happy with.

jettadeluxe
I have recently replaced the front brakes with EBC grooved disks are redstuff pads and it actually feels a bit worse! Brake fluid wasn't changed through, anyone got any recommendations for high perf fluid?
Figure11
My last flush was with Halfrauds dot 5.1 but I will be changeing it to: http://www.k300performance.co.uk/ate-super-blue-racing-brake-fluid.htm as per Audi pages here: http://www.audipages.com/Tech_Articles/susp_whls_brake_steer/brakebleed.html Mike

Abs
A8VIP... that's worrying that you found the brake "upgrade" worse than standard brakes! Making me rethink the red stuff pads.
