Calm Chris
Managed to take the complete top off my light hand finger (next to little piggy one) playing Gordon Ramsey this morning. So now I have a continuously bleeding open wound over the whole top area of this finger (if you look down on the finger it's literally the whole top). It can't be stitched, and I'm not wasting my time sitting in the local MRSA infested A&E for a dressing. So other than elaster (s) are there any sensible over the top finger dressings that allow decent air circulation and will allow the wound to heal? I'm almost certain that the existing dressing , even if it slow or stops the bleeding, will simply cause the wound to re-open when I take it off in 24 hours. Any nurses out there
garcon magnifique
Stick it in a plug socket. That should cauterise the wound.
steve2
Chri5, that is a bit extreme just to check you are Arsenal red through and through. On a serious note i took the top of my finger next to my thumb on my left hand by it going into a magneto on my motorbike 22 years agoI ended up with a skin graft taken from my arm as i was told it would not heal. ring up NHS direct and see what they say, now where are our resident docs
mb
Steristrips will hold most things together it is what they use in A&E if you don't need stitches
bazza_g
wrap some duck tape round it, problem solved
Andrew
Has this healed? Surprised you didn't go to A&E mate. I once got a burn in a kitchen I was working in and didn't bother getting it checked out. I learned later that any burn over the size of a 50p should be looked at - mine was about 3 of them! Calm Chris
It bled for 2 days, yesterday was the 1st day without a dressing and then I knocked it Dressing back on, but only to prevent further damage- before I knocked it it was healing up quite nicely. Thanks for asking.
