What's my X3 worth?

When was it registered? Mine is a March 06/06 which means it falls into tax band F.

TBH, I'm not going to defend my one as well and say it's residuals will be on par with a new M3, but I don't think it would be as bad as you might think. X3's aren't the enthusiasts choice, but they are a fantastic car for families, slightly smaller than an X5 and cheaper.

The X3 3.0d is also the best one IMO for performance and economy. That said, i don't have figures and whenever i see residual figures for my own cars, it always hurts!

I take it this is not an M Sport model is it......because I thought you couldn't have running boards on the M Sport. When were the M Sports and the facelift introduced.

I am planning to have a look at an August 2006 2.0D M Sport X3, just making sure its as current as it can. On for sale at about 20k. Anyone driven a 2.0 diesel, think its 150bhp, what is the performance and economy like?

Thanks lads,

Context really either way - trade bid and private sale.

It's in the £300 to tax band, so probably F for Fecking rip off seeing as it's not big or thirsty.

Not the M Sport model, which I think sort of gets carried away with the point of the X3, and really is a heavy 3 series on stilts.

I'm sure the colour combo and having Nav, leather, BT and only 12k miles etc will make it easy to sell, but at what price?!

Never driven the 2.0d to be fair, but the thought of manual and only 150BHP in a 2 ton car doesn't bode well! They now do an auto though which may help, but will no doubt make it even slower and less economical!

The 500nm from the 3.0D makes it pretty swift and it also needs this when on the Motorway as it takes a fair bit of grunt to push it through the air at speed.

I didn't buy it from new so the shock won't be that bad I promise, so hit me with it!

Cheers

Ben

PS Dave_K - if you fancy a 3.0D then just send me a PM 169144-ok.gif

I'd imagine you're looking at around the £20k mark for a part-ex. Possibly slightly better at a BMW dealer, depending what it's against.

For a private sale, if you want to go to time and effort of advertising it properly, possiby £21k.

Purely my own (far from expert) opinion. If someone in the trade thinks I'm way out shout up! 169144-ok.gif

You will get £24k for that all day long as a private sale, I would put it up for £25k mate.

A mate has just sold his for £24500 on an 06 plate, black/black, nav bluetooth and 21k miles on it, and it went in under a fortnight.

Cars with no nav were up for £22k and not shifting, so it shows how much people will pay for the right spec.

X3's are very spec dependent IMO. They can read almost the same on paper but look very different in the flesh. I would steer well clear of a 2.0d, even in M Sport Guise, unless you really don't care for performance. The 3.0d is utterly fantastic and turns the rather uninspirational X3 into something rather capable and (dare I say) fun.

Also tax band F for a car of this size, weight and performance is fine IMO. Any car with that level of output will be in band F at the very least.

As for the trade in prices, that's made my day Gizze... i thought mine would have dropped 10k overnight?!? 169144-ok.gifgrin.gif

I might even consider trading to an X5 3.0d... what are they going for now!?! (new shape)
