danksy
I am in a wheel dilemma (crap pun) Do i stick with the std wheels (top), or order the 19" (bottom)?

AZURES3
I have to say I like both but always feel the S Models should have a wheel that the other cars dont have. Shame they didnt update the Avus with something fresher and use it in 18", 19" & 20" for the different models etc. I do like the 19" wheels in that picture very much, how much more are they ? I guess the only consideration would be the tyre costs and possibly a slighty harder ride. I really like the TTS if I wasn't about to move house I would have an order in too With the S3 engine and a lighter better balanced chasis this thing is going to fly. danksy
The fist picture shows the wheels that are exclusive to the TTS here is a closeup of the std wheel
AZURES3
In that case I would stick to the 18" standard wheel that is exclusive to the the TTS, looks great close up pic shows the real detail. AZ
danksy
The 19" cost another £

962C
Standard 18s. you talk about resale - can you not forget the 19s, type pressure monitor, parking sensors and have Nav instead? Woth double triple checking bluetooth doesn't delete the aluminium steering wheel I assume this somes with as standard.
danksy
Parking sensors will pay for themselves quite quickly the way my mrs drives If i want nav, I will retro-fit it, but in Glasses nav adds about £500 If I added the 18" wheels and Nav, the car would cost nearly £40k
danksy
There's a guy who has fitted RNSE from an A4 into a MkII TT. The main fiddle factor involved manufacturing a facia plate for the nav unit so it matched the curve dash of the TT
lottiefox
Standard 18"s IMO - they look better, the car doesn't need 19" wheels on it (looks too pimped IMO) and it will be perfectly balanced with the 18"s with a decent ride quality as well especially with the magnetic ride as stock. AZ - I'd also be buying one if it weren't for the small matter of a house move and wedding!!!

If you are spending almost 40k I would seriously consider a used RS4 saloon with buckets and sport plus instead. Lower deprecation (40k new TT vs 18 month old 40k RS4) would offset the higher insurance, fuel and servicing costs. Wasn't there a bargain priced red one for sale on here the other day? Scotty
I'd stick with the standard ones. Smaller, lighter, (cheaper) better handling and unique. 40k does seem a lot! My TT cost me £24.5k. My 5 month old modded S4 cost £35k. I guess it depends how long you'll keep it.

shao_khan
I think its a shame you cant ge tthe s-design wheel which is the current S3 / S4 option. Would look good on the car IMO.

J_C
Definitely one of the first two. I was going to say the 19s but the standard wheels are really growing on me now. The RS4 style ones look great on the TT, but on an 'S' model you really want the wheels that are exlusive to those cars imo.
962C
[ QUOTE ] mmm [/ QUOTE ] RS4 19s.... but only if you buy an RS4 to go with them! GO ON! You have the A6 Avant for being sensible.

962C
Very wise decision. No doubt it is a great car, but the much debated five cylinder RS model will only come along an upstage the TT-S anyway. The TT-S is not worth 40k. A 2006 RS4 on the other hand very much is. Buy the Chimaera your friend is selling! (where I spotted your update)

The ones offered on the new TT and A6 le Mans aren't dished/bowed as much as the ones on the B7 RS4. If ordering a TTS, you have to go 19's though IMO.
