davefish
I'm not usually keen on 5 spokes but they really suit the car Darren. Good choice.
Henry52
I have the OZ ultraleggera's fitted with 235x35x19 and 10mm hub centric spacers fitted to the rear, H&R coil overs, car sits very low ( my choice ) quite stiff/hard, don't have any rubbing issues, although I am a bit careful, I haven't actually had all four wheels off the ground? Oh should have said it's a Mk1V.
JonC
I had a set of those OZ's Ultraleggera's on my Alfa GTV 3.2 V6. They look the business (Wow can those GTV's depreciate quickly!!)

davefish
I think I've found my replacement wheels but they come in 19x8.5 with an offset of 45mm. After my last 45mm debarkle I'm a little nervous about this. I've spoken to one of their sales guys and he says I could have them machined to a higher offset (around 55mm). Would this compromise the integrity of the wheel if I was to take a full 10mm off the hub? Please help me ;-)
Henry52
That's interesting, I've looked at my Rondells/OZ/BBS and 10mm would take them down to the cone shape for the wheel bolts. I'd really would worry about the integrity of the wheel. Although I suppose every make of wheel is different
davefish
Thanks Henry. Over 100 views since my post and you're the first chap to comment ;-) Is my question hard to comment on? Does it just depend on the wheel design? Has anyone else done this? The wheels I'm intertested in are Kahn RS-V1's I could really do with some advice. Please help if you can! BrakeSnake
Aren't they going to be sodding easy to kerb??
Luke
was thinking the same, almost designed to be kerbed not sure if sometimes the tyre looks to thin on the rim and a bit like a rubber band. I personally would go BBS but hey be different

davefish
Thanks for the replies guys. You're right, they are perfect for curbing but I'm pretty careful and haven't scuffed a wheel to date "touch wood" (will probably happen on day one now I've said that). What do you think of them? I realise they might not be to everyone's taste but I think they'd look really striking on a DBP MkV. Quite similiar to the new stock alloy design but a little more special IMO. martininwillerby
Hi Dave..... Like the pic's. I've just been on to the Khan site, those wheels you wanted come in a 7.5" x 19 which might be more suitable. Don't know if it will run a 235 tyre, but the OEM wheels are 7.5" and run a 225 as you know. I ended up with BBS CH's on mine after you had problems with your others from Tyremen. Here's a pic to set you off......
davefish
Hi Martin, looking good! Are they 19x8" or 19x8.5" wide? I believe the offset is 51? Did you go for 225/35 or 235/35 and do you get any rubbing under hard driving? I'm going to rephrase my question... Is anyone running 19x8.5 on a MkV and what offset and tyres do you have? And... If I buy these kahn wheels and change the offset to 51, it should in therory add an extra 13mm to the inside and outside, would this be ok? For the love of God, please help!!! Henry52
The only answer I see is to look at a set of those wheels in the flesh and measure from the hub contact surface to the beginning of the cone shape. No one can really offer advice unless they have those wheels fitted. If the seller says you can chop 10mm of, then maybe you can, but your the guy doing 100mph round a corner and when the wheel breaks??? Ultimately, if you put the wheels on you must take responsibility.
martininwillerby
Hi Dave.... The wheels i fitted were 19"x8" ET50 with 235/35/19 XL tyres. As for rubbing nothing up to now, But then I don't go pushing it very often. As for fitting anything with less than ET50 your going to get problems... Have you been on any of the off set calculator web sites... a 8.5" wheel with a ET45 is 19mm further out (outer edge) and thats without putting on a 235 tyre. so that would make it 24mm. try it.... web page
martininwillerby
Dave... as for machining the offset to suit the wheel arch, You would have to take off 24mm. I personally wouldn't take 1mm off them just in case something was to happen.
martininwillerby
Dave.. what about these, can't find out what ET they come in but on another website it asks if an ET50 will be ok to fit...
