DJStrange
I took a look at fitting a towbar today and to be honest, I was puzzled as to how the rear bumper comes off (cue giggles & ridicule...) I got the plastic trim off the rear of the boot space where the hooks are, couldn't see any obvious fittings behind that, so then I took a look underneath, removed the plastic tray and was contemplating just removing all the plastic pop-clips I could see, plus the two big allen key bolts on the piston things... Needless to say, I put it back together & decided I'd better ask here first before I start dismantling the rear end! So can anyone give me a quick how-to? Pretty please?! Or point me in the right direction?
IT_S8
Its the 'two big allen key bolts on the piston things' Remote those two bolts, then ease it past the rear wheel arch trims and it slides off... Easier with two people, but if one person doing it, get some carpet or something soft on the floor so when it comes down it doesn't scratch.... Refitting is reversal of removal

I did wonder if it was that simple, I was contemplating having a go, then considered the daylight left (it was 4.30pm) & just didn't want to be under the back of a car in the dark not knowing what I was doing. Cheers for the tip, I'll have another go
Duffy3074
You've got to peel back the wheel arch liners and remove the plastic covers on the underside and next to the exhaust as well, watch out for the connector for the rear parking sensors as well. It's an hours work to do carefully.
NickGUK
I would also use a few strips of 2" masking tape on the rear wings near where it meets the bumper, coz if you slip the corners go upwards and scratch the bodywork
Duffy3074
That's a good point, easily done if your taking it off on your own.
