Rear bumper removal

I took a look at fitting a towbar today and to be honest, I was puzzled as to how the rear bumper comes off (cue giggles & ridicule...)smashfreakB.gif

I got the plastic trim off the rear of the boot space where the hooks are, couldn't see any obvious fittings behind that, so then I took a look underneath, removed the plastic tray and was contemplating just removing all the plastic pop-clips I could see, plus the two big allen key bolts on the piston things...

Needless to say, I put it back together & decided I'd better ask here first before I start dismantling the rear end! coffee.gif

So can anyone give me a quick how-to? Pretty please?! smirk.gif

Or point me in the right direction?

Its the 'two big allen key bolts on the piston things' 169144-ok.gif

Remote those two bolts, then ease it past the rear wheel arch trims and it slides off...

Easier with two people, but if one person doing it, get some carpet or something soft on the floor so when it comes down it doesn't scratch....

Refitting is reversal of removal 169144-ok.gif

Ha! I did wonder if it was that simple, I was contemplating having a go, then considered the daylight left (it was 4.30pm) & just didn't want to be under the back of a car in the dark not knowing what I was doing.

Cheers for the tip, I'll have another go 169144-ok.gif
