simkna Posted March 3, 2008 Report Share Posted March 3, 2008 I bought a motherboard with on board toslink (digital optical out), which worked great for audio to my amp, but I ended up putting in a Soundblaster card, as it took processing load of the CPU and increased my framerates in some games quite a bit. Here's the HTPC rig I built a while back. Quiet, cool GPU, with Nexus modified Zalman CPU cooler. Quiet as a mouse. Si. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Tonsko Posted March 5, 2008 Report Share Posted March 5, 2008 There was talk of the cell chips in various appliances (e.g. TV, PS3 etc) being able to talk to each other and share processing power wirelessly. While one or more cores in the cell was dormant, it could lend it's power to something nearby which needed it. Don't know how far off that will be though. Sounds pretty damn cool.
