Bradmax57
was just wondering if it would be just as easy to replace the loom inside door? the problem i have with mine is that its snapped nearer the door end which is making it even more difficult to get at as its inside the rubber boot
Bradmax57
question, are there sensors in the door for the airbags? should i be disconnecting the battery before I attempt anymore?
paul_tdi
I think the loom is about £100! Dont know about airbag sensors, ipretty certain they are located in the B Pillar.

paul_tdi
No worries! There appears to be a coupling repair harness listed also which may be cheaper? Not sure it it is suitable but certainly worth asking: 8Z0 971 029 L. Will be interested to see how you get on.

Bradmax57
sorry to keep asking but any idea how to remove the plug from the car side, seemed a little tricky, if i can do that might be worth trying to fix the wires first.

shark_90
[ QUOTE ] Same happened on mine, it was exactly the same wire as previously mentioned! It is do-able but as Shark has commented a lot better if you get 2 on the job. I actually soldered another bit of wire on rather than just try and join the two pieces. At least this way you can fix to the exposed wire, thread back thourgh the rubber tubing, trim as required and then attach to the other end.Good luck! [/ QUOTE ] Ah yes, come to think of it, that's what I did. Trouble is I did it about 30 mins before going out on a rather heavy night, but it's all flooding back now

Bradmax57
got it to a point now where I can probably try and repair the connection, and on closer inspection there appears to be another one cut too.
Bradmax57
certainly would make life a lot easier if I could get the plug out
shark_90
Just strip a bit of wire back with a stanley knife blade and solder another piece of wire in there to join the two. Same for the other wire if there's 2 broken. Dead easy!

paul_tdi
Try lowering the window all the way and then back up again. Sometimes they need resetting. I may be able to help with other part numbers if required! Paul
PetrolDave
[ QUOTE ] Try lowering the window all the way and then back up again. Sometimes they need resetting. [/ QUOTE ] Hold the switch down for about 5 seconds once the window has reached the bottom - that's what's needed to reset the one touch.
