Audi UK Complaint - Who to write to?

Well - snail mailed everything to Jeremy Hicks and he got it this morning. Have had this response from him. Any thoughts?

Dear Ms D

Thank you for your recent contact regarding the difficulties you have experienced with Peter Guilder Audi and your dissatisfaction with the Audi A3 you purchased from Derby Audi.

In order to provide an appropriate response to the issues you have raised, I previously asked that my assistant, Steven Conner, liaise with all parties involved and conduct an investigation on my behalf.

Given the importance placed on your complaint, I have instructed Steven to report his findings directly to me so that I may respond accordingly, in due course.

As the value of your car will only depreciate over time, I have asked Steven to assist you in sourcing a suitable vehicle as soon as possible. As Audi UK do not control the prices set for Used Approved Vehicles and as each Audi Centre is an independent and autonomous entity, I have asked Steven to assist you with your negotiations with the Centre involved.

Steven will be in touch with you soon to discuss this process in greater detail.

Yours sincerely

Jeremy Hicks

Director of Audi UK

i think, personally, it isn't even from him and whoever it is has not even read the stuff I sent. How many times to you have to say 'Will you give me answers'. Everyone on here seems to understand what I am after, why can't they?

And if an investigation is going to be done, why can't I be told what the results of it are. At the moment, I am just being fobbed off again with an offer of changing the car with a possible resulting financial loss for me.

Hope you are still with me on this one.

Had phone call from Audi UK yesterday - finally got admission that Peter Gilder had finally admitted that what I had documented was correct. Now got meeting with Director and Area Manager for Sheffield in January. They have admitted that I was treated badly and that none of this should have happened. Apparently Jeremy Hicks has duplicated all the documents and photos and sent them to several departments and told them to sort it.

Have been told meeting can take place wherever I would feel comfortable and can take whoever I like as they don't want me to feel intimidated. (Hmmmmmmm - me - intimidated!!!!!). They are no longer talking Audi vouchers but 'non-profit making' resolution to ensure that I am satisfied and restore my good opinion of Audi.

Watch this space - if you are still around.

I may not jump up and down and stamp my feet but persistence may pay off in the end - hopefully.

Does make me wonder tho how many customers give up the fight cos they can't take any more - by the time the meeting takes place it will be one year almost to the day that I bought the original car!!!!!

Hi Audi Chick

Share your story and experience. I want to know what happened and how you dealt with it.

Have had great support from this site but sometimes you feel as tho you are battling on your own.

Meeting is on 12th January at venue of my choice - feel reasonably prepared for it having lived with this fight for best part of 10 months, but any advice/help would be appreciated.

Feel I need to be clear about what I want from them but be prepared for weasel words (which is what I have had so far) and wriggling out of things.

Not bothered about being banned from local dealership - had already decided that I would never darken their brand new doorstep (even if it is only quarter of a mile from me) as I could never trust them not to piss in fuel tank/cut brake pipes, etc

Let me know

I would imagine my threads r all on here still - go find 'em (try searching for A4 creak I think), my keyboard would probably wear out if I tried to retype all. M stand-off only ended when it was going to court and the dealer principle spoke to my solictor, and then subsequent conversations with Alan Duckett from Audi Finance - he's been sent a bottle of whiskey to keep him warm this winter!

If not, let me know and I'll cut and paste and email to you !

Thanks guys

Lovely to know you are still out there and waiting for me to make these guys accountable for their mistakes.

Break up from school tomorrow for 2 weeks so will follow your advice and mug up on Audi Chick's posts.

You have no idea what this means to me - even if nothing comes of it, it has been great to know that I am not alone in this.

This sort of thing is happening to 2 of my mate with their diesel X5s as well. They are in court with BMW - the games they are playing to try to worm out of it are unbelievable! I think they've been there about 5 times and each time BMW wiggle and worm. The judge is getting hacked off. At least you seem to have got Audi trying to help, BMW UK didn't want to know and never even tried talking about the issues with them to resolve thier problems.

At last count, the X5 was 'stolen' from the dealers compound where it was being stored..........(which is handy for BMW UK)..........hmmm. Suspicious? nah.

Hmmmmm Cruiser 647

You sound almost as cynical as me - and that is pretty difficult to achieve.

Just deciding on venue and who I am going to take with me.

Will certainly go prepared with all documentation and photos and hope I don't miss anything.

Keep your fingers crossed for me. Best resolution - new car in colour and with specs I want. Worst case scenario - they piss me off. Anything in between could be a bonus. Not holding my breath.

Wish I did StooH

Have a really good husband who has so far tried to stay out of the problem apart from supporting me and giving me info - he would be brilliant and would pick up on anything that I missed or would need to query but unfortunately he is now in poor health that is exacerbated by stress of any kind so really want to keep him out of the meeting is possible. However, think I have had enough grounding whilst fighting bank through court to get charges back and this Audi problem has now been dragging for almost a year so think should be OK.

Have a friend lined up to come with me who is as good as my husband and who will support me - failing that will take 30 year old, 6' 1" daughter who is built like a pencil with model girl looks and long blond hair. She will completely vamp them and they will end up giving me new RS8 in red on the drive for the following day - without knowing quite how it happened!!!!!!!

We will see - but like me - don't hold your breath for an easy solution.

Am going to continue reading other threads on this site to see how other problems have been dealt with. So if you have any threads you can recommend please let me know.

Just to wish all of you who have followed my crusade for fair play, a very Merry Christmas and a peaceful New Year.

Will watch my thread for any advice from you before meeting with Audi UK on 12th Januaryand will let you know outcome.

Think least I would accept now is a fair exchange and a 'goodwill gesture' that takes account of my year of stress; effort; offers made and retracted; lies told to me; fighting to get someone to take this seriously; deep, deep disappointment in a premier marque dealership; time wasted; diesel wasted; and a year of :ffs:

Have a lovely season with your families and thanks again for your support

Hi rTrh

Welcome to the site - I only found it from trawling on Google to see where and how to complain. The support is tremendous.

Sorry to hear that I'm not 'unique' - as Audi UK seem to be trying to convince me of.

Am actually looking forward to meeting with these two on Monday - have got everything well prepared and know what I am going to tackle them about, what i am going to say and what i am going to ask them to do.

It has taken almost a year to get to this point. I have never jumped up and down, stamped my feet or yelled (maybe I should have done) but think they have got the message that I have all the documentary and photographic evidence of what was done to me and that if I go public with it, their Used Car Programme will suffer untold damage. And also think the message has got through that I may not be screaming and yelling but equally I am not going to go away or be bought off with £500 of Audi vouchers. I don't really think they can afford to lose any of the few customers they have left.

However, it was Gilders attitude that got me so angry and when I found they were selling on the original car that had so much wrong with it, that was when I decided enough was enough.

What's your story, who is it who is treating you badly (wonder if it is the same one I am complaining about) and if you need any support, let me know - will be there with knobs on.
