Having read all this now I really wonder how employees of the company (audi) feel about this.

Does it get to the point where a company is so big that they just give a f**k?

My Dad had a load of hassle with BT Broadband - I posted a complaint on ThinkBroadband and within 30 minutes someone stepped in a sorted the issue - although it didn't work and he ended up asking for the MAC to move to another bb supplier.

I have had a few problems with Northampton Audi but they always resolved the issue to my satisfaction, they folow up all service/maint calls with CS and I relayed my dissatisfaction which yielded a proper and focused fix - again to my satisfaction. It keeps me happy with the dealer and brand.

I get the impression with Jennit's vehicle that they (AGP) purchased a dodgy car - thought right sell it and let the UK warranty program fix it. They obviously forget to get it fixed they need to actually be able to do their job, something they appear completely incompetent to do!!

This puts me off buying another Audi though - the issue is I like the cars and I have not been messed about like this, Jennit hope you have had a good meeting. Let us know.

Just to put another thought in many years ago I had a serious engine failure on a new car - it was less then a year old - I got What Car involved and within afew days of appearing in the magazine with my car I was put right!!

The current crunch will affect Audi - I have heard some dealers have gone under and some of them are under investigation for serious financial irregularities! Cant really say any more but audi are not imune to the credit crunch and will have to fight for our custom.

I believe if you get the salesmans email address and the sales manager and dealer principle -if you do't get handled properly as many have said in this thread send the three of them an email saying your grievance and that your getting a car from another dealer.

I am just getting used to being on a Forum!

Just want you all to know I'm still here - will post again - and thank you Jennit for your kind reply (I've only just logged on again today). It does seem a shame though that no-one has heard from you since your meeting. If you have been told you cannot discuss what's been said could you please let us all know; hope this isn't the case though and you're just really busy, like me?

Hi

Just to thank you all for the good wishes and to say that the meeting was a really good one and Audi UK have accepted that things had not gone the way that they should. At the moment a resolution is under discussion so I don't really want to jinx things but I am glad I had the chance to discuss things face to face with them. But as they say, it isn't over til the fat lady sings.

Felt I had to post this just to put your minds at rest that I had not been bumped off - or as one of my colleagues suspected - crushed like an old car and dumped on a scrap heap. They were very professional, frank and honest with me - which is what I have wanted all along and which I really appreciated. It all feels very surreal at the moment as I have lived with this for so long and it feels very strange to think that the end is possibly in sight and I can settle for a peaceful and less stressed life again.

Thanks once again to everyone who has offered moral support

Hi Jennit

Understand

But,

Ddoes this mean that PGA - 'Gilders' - are out of the Loop? Seems they've got off unscathed (or have they?); when 'PGA' are the one's who caused you all the hassle!

Nice of Audi UK to 'keep-face' but it seems to me it is more than that - it is the poor ordinary customer at the hands of those representing the label locally. What are they going to do to improve standards?? Are they really bothered?

Think you should have had an immediate resolution- not kept waiting after all this time!

By the way, thanks for posting.

Keep in touch.

I'll post when I can.

But, I'm still here.

Agree completely about PGA - did suggest to Audi UK at meeting that maybe they ought to have a system in place where if Audi UK are put in the position of having to fork out financially to put right a situation created by one of the franchised dealers that the dealer should be made to foot the bill as a form of a fine - maybe hitting the dealers where it hurts might make them think twice before behaving the way they do. Obviously the better the dealer the fewer the fines.

But i do accept that LEGALLY Audi UK are not responsible for their franchised dealers. However, still think there should be a system in place to prevent what happened to me happening to anyone else.

Hi tRth

Don't know if you had realised but you can also private message members or e-mail them through this site if you need something and don't particularly want to be public about it.

If you right ckick on the members name it will give you an option to message or email. This may be of some help to you if you want help from a member but feel your post would be too long or complicated.

Also it you look at the top right hand corner of the screen, where it says 'Welcome ....' it will also tell you if you have any private messages in your box. It is worth checking these, as sometimes some members don't want to put public posts up but do want to contact you. It took me ages to find out these things.

Ah but she's now a poor student - gone back to uni for 3 years after spending last ten years living in various parts of world and learning languages. So no money, but plenty of brains and legs! And wouldn't know one end of a car from another. But you can see why I thought about taking her to meeting with Audi UK. Probably would have ended up with a fleet of R8's on the drive.

To anyone who is still wondering how this problem was resolved - I haven't wanted to post until I was certain that everything would go through.

Well, tomorrow the resolution should be sitting on my drive. I have to say that Audi UK have been fantastic once they realised the real extent of the problem and how serious it was from all the documentary and photographic evidence I had. I am picking up my car tomorrow - a RED Audi A3 with all the specs that I had originally wanted and a few more that I have paid for myself - just because I decided that life would be nicer with a tilt and slide glass sunroof and walnut inlays!

Will let you know tomorrow that all is well. Still a little apprehensive - possibly because the last red Audi A3 caused me so much grief!

Hi guys

Thanks for good wishes - wasn't sure there was anyone still out there following this as it seems to have taken so long to resolve.

The resolution is everything I initially dreamed of getting and more. A garnet red A3 with all the specs I originally had plus some I have added and paid for myself (decided I could not live without a tilt and slide glass sunroof). It is a dream to drive and if it is going to get 'nippier' once everything has bedded in then I will probably kill myself in it as it is so responsive now. A beautiful looker with a wicked side! Certainly makes my heart beat faster - even if it is just through shouting at other drivers to get away from my car!

I have to say that Audi UK have tried hard to redeem the failures of one of their franchised dealers, once they realised just how serious the problems were. Fortunately, I had the documentary and photographic evidence to back what I was claiming. As for Derby Audi who dealt with the taking back of the blue car and ordering the new one, what can I say but what a change to my original experience with Peter Gilder Audi. I have had nothing but professional, respectful and pleasant service from them (did wonder at one point if there was a label on my file that said 'Do not piss this customer off'.) But as I bought the blue car from them and had same service, think this is just the way they operate. Will certainly be continuing my association with them.

Will post photos asap ( like when I manage to take some in daylight and also manage to stop driving it for long enough).

Regards to you all
