pany
vagparts do the kit at agood price, and the instructions they include make it a very simple job. If you want the rear air vents in the armrest to work, you need to remove the entire centre console, but armrest itself took me 1 hour (including finding screwdriver and coffee). poobarr
Found out today that apparently VAG dealers will do this for £350. Cheers guys easier to buy one with it already methinks!
pany
poobar, check out www.vagparts.co.uk, enter online shop and search for armrest. The one for the mk 5 golf is £154.91 + vat. You will have it installed in less than 1 hour if you are half way competent with a screwdriver. The kit includes all you need and instructions. Note this kit will not allow the airvents in the rear of the armrest to work as this requires removal of the centre console to allow connection of an AC pipe to a distributionb box in the dash. A lot of people have done this conversion and I don't know of any bothered about the lack of AC via the armrest. After all, the rear passengers are more than fine usually with the underseat feeds.
