gizze
Yeah behind the unit. Tweeters you want are the L7 tweeters, and they are now £30 each. Trim is £15 each.
smarty156
I've now got the L7 tweeters and despite not showing it on the BMW parts screen they do in fact come with leads attached and a plug on the end (and what looks like an in-line filter). Just got to work out how to take the door trim off now and fit them!

Get your front windows tinted, and while they have your door card off, pop the tweeters in :D
Golfer
Get your front windows tinted, and while they have your door card off, pop the tweeters in :D Don't make the tint toooo dark;) or you'll get nicked. They are coming down hard on this now.

I don't need the new cover as I have an E61 which already has the cover, just no speakers behind them.

MyFirstBeemer
hi thanks gizze did you have ready any pdf's regarding the install as you mentioned on your previous posts?? Also i havent seem to found any ice installers who will touch these types of cars. Do you know of any?? as i am scared of a DIY install..but also intrigued in doing it myself.. Thanks
gizze
Regarding what install??
gizze
Do it yourself, it is dead easy, worse case scenario you snap a piece of trim, most expensive part you remove is a tenner, so don't pay an installer.
gizze
These pics are all you need for the install. http://www.tyresmoke.net/forum/bmw-technical/108251-adding-blaupunkt-plug-play.html#post1312474
MyFirstBeemer
Hi thanks for youre reassuring words ..its just with the pro sat nav..you have to remove the trim..and climate control thingy..sounds scary...
gizze
It's the same as the radio. Only takes a couple of minutes. There are guides to removing the CCC on E60 Information Network, it is actually easier than the E90 in some ways.
MyFirstBeemer
ok thanks im determined to do it ...ordered the earthquake subs from the states last night.. The sealant you mention for the subs in the previous post ..in what form should this be in??
gizze
Just a bathroom sealant will do the job. I would get a black one if possible, but doesn't matter what one. I put a bead round the enclosure and let it almost dry to form a seal, and then put more sealant round the driver edge to make sure it is airtight once the driver is in. Biscuits
We're definatly keeping the 130 for a while, so I'm going to upgrqade the audio in that rather than the 535d (it's going soon). Where and how much have people paid for the amp and subs ? Cheers B.
MyFirstBeemer
Who did you order from and how much? company called thunder audio video. i went for the top shipping option Fedx International priority total for subs was $260 with $77 delivery charges all in all comes to approx 177 quid though there are cheaper shipping options but i dont want to wait that long. Ill guess there will be some duty to pay on top of that.

If not I'll order them for delivery otherwise I might get my sister to bring some back when she goes to the US in September.

MyFirstBeemer
hi geeze another question. In the previous posts you mention routing the amp to the battery terminals. In my younger days when i used to dabble in upgrading car hi-fi i remember having to drill a hole through the body of my escort in order to achieve this.. How is this done with these newer BMW's?? The battery is in the boot so if you put the amp in the boot, no problems with trying to get the positive cable into the engine compartment!
