Scotty
I can't believe that I've never come across this. My Mrs get's regular prescriptions and has always paid per item....which adds up due to the high fees! I found out about the Pre-Payment scheme on another forum and she's just signed up. Basically you pay £102.50 and then get a card which you show instead of paying. For those who regularly get prescriptions this is a must (14 a year is the break even). I just can't believe the local pharmacies or the doctors haven't suggested it I hope this saves you some money PPA - Pre-Payment Certificates
Rustynuts
Would this cover NHS dental work aswell?
Dave
No it's just for prescriptions. There is also a 3 month version for £27.85 which will pay for itself if you have more than 3 items in 3 months. Paul, we tell our patients when it is cheaper for them to buy a pre-payment certificate!
jpullen
The canny thing to do is to stock up your pills and potions as it's about to expire and then you can have a month or two free before you purchase the next years card...
