Mook
Good find Despite my daily dependence on the sound of a V8, I'm seriously tempted by the new ****rocket.
RedRobin
....Mook!!!! How could you!? Would you willingly give up the glorious sound of your V8? I'm ashamed of you! :nono:
RedRobin
....Great find but WTF do they always play ridiculous music to drown the sound of the car in a vid?
Mook
Because it's a turbo 4 pot with squeeling tyres
RedRobin
....But they even drown vids of V6 and V8 cars with music!
Mook
Ah yes, that's because they're feckin useless at making videos.
misterc
Great spot Atlantis - loads of information included in the press release. Alas as a company car driver with only diesel options then I face a lynching for looking at the proposed diesel engine with a bit of interest! 'A clean and torque-strong 140-PS TDI (103 kW at 4,200 rpm) will be available on the Scirocco at the time of its market launch in Europe.' Strangely it says 'the TDI will already fulfill the Euro-5 emissions standard*' *Due to current vehicle registration laws, the vehicles can only be registered for the current Euro-4 emission standard initially. I dunno - its just one of those cars that feels wrong with diesel powering it! (sets up raft of subsequent 'witty' comments...)
Mook
But the diesel isn't out in the UK til 6 months after the main launch in September. Work that one out
misterc
I always thought we were not part of Europe! My fault for believing the press-release; slightly frustrating but it helps keep my potential options down! Delaying it until the same-ish time as the next Golf - looks like another A3 for me in company car world then!

Mook
£20,500 is what Evo reckon, so spot on. About £300 less than a Golf GTI, which is about right, given it's only got 4 seats
Mook
I stand corrected - News Stig just posted this http://www.tyresmoke.net/forum/tsn-motor-news/109857-want-scirocco-get-your-order-now.html - nearly £21K
