2.7T mpg?

I had wondered if the 23mpg figure that the computer gives me was right I've reset the mpg average a few times recently and it seems to be pretty set at that level on long-distance runs in the allroad at "not-quite-licence-risking-speeds".

Is that about right for this engine or does it indicate it's a bit unhealthy?

It's a manual, but no it isn't spending time in traffic (though with the holiday season starting that may change).

I know that the 2.7T does remap well, but it's got 84k up and I'm concerned that upping the power might be a bit hard on the old thing.

Also there's often a buit of a load in there which won't help.

I wouldn't worry about mapping that engine with 84K on it. It's the same basis for the B5 S4 and the B5 RS4, albeit with slightly different internals.

The Allroad weighs 1800 KG, so you're never going to get any great mpg out of it. I ran a remapped Allroad 2.5TDI and it never returned more than 31 mpg.

hi mate,

was gettin roughly the same mpg on my 2000 allroad and its a manual and got 107k,but now ive got 3 double boron magnets on the fuel inlet + air vortex + ceramic 7 + air filter and the mpg has risen to around 25 ish most of the time which aint bad for the 55 quid i spent getting all the stuff mentioned (car feels a bit more responsive aswell),gonna map mine soon but i want more power but might need stiffer suspension

ste

seems to work on mine, did some research on the products and it stacked up for me,fell for the marketing!,maybe.

ceramic 7 is an internal engine coating that works in a similar way to castrol magnatec, reduces wear, everything moves that little bit better.

first tried it on an a4 2.8 quat and it seem to make a difference, for example when i started that up in the mornin i got a second of chatter until everything was lubricated, added ceramic 7 never got it again and that was 6 months ago

yea it is that piece of metal, can't really say if it works but for £4.99 and the chance to tinker with the engine it was worth a try,as i said everything on together seems to make a little difference unless my dis is screwed which i would'nt rule out,ive used ceramic 7 on allroad 2.7t,a4 2.8 and a4 3.0l quats and my gti-r,i would use it all again :)
