PeterS
Quick question for the TSN experts - I need to know what size tyres the A3 need when fitted with 17" wheels. Our A3 came with 16" 9 spoke (though spoke is stretching a bit IMO, they look like hub caps) wheels. After a lot of searching (and waiting...most seem to be for the A4) I've picked up some 17" 5 spoke 'Star' design wheels for it from eBay for the grand total of £72 :D However, they don't have tyres on and the car and handbook is currently miles away. Big_Dan
Hi They should be 225/45 17s, but they're not cheap ... I just paid £125 each for Michelin PS2s from CostCo.

PeterS
Thanks all Went for Goodyear Eagle F1s from blackcircles.com in the end - £368 fitted for 4, with another £13 off as I had 100 blackcircle points from a previous purchase. Net cost less than £90 a corner - not too bad I didn't think :D Peter
Hopsta
Popped into Watling Tyres this morning to sort out a puncture and they have me a price of £150 per corner for the PS2! How can there be so much difference?
PeterS
Quick update on these 15 months and 12k miles down the line... I don't often drive the A3, but as my partner has a broken leg I've been using it a bit just to keep it moving really. I noticed that the car seemed to have a lot of road noise, almost as if a wheel bearing was on the way out, so I booked it into Worthing Audi so they could take a look. Turns out that the noise is caused by a the OSR tyre, which is no longer completely round  Have emailed Goodyear, so will keep you posted!! Rear tyres have around 4mm of tread left, so worn but not excessively low. Peter
