yasinuk
HI Just found this forum. I just bought an Audi A5 2.0T great car. However the only thing missing is the 3.0 TDI style lights with xenons and daytime running lights. I was wondering if anyone had managed to retro fit a set of headlights from a 3.0 TDI to any other A5. I have asked the dealers and they dont really know much, and are just saying no. Im an electrician by trade and i was thinking if you can get the headlight to fit then its just a matter of wiring. Maybe the xenons will work but no auto levelling etc?? Can anyone else shed any light on this? Maybe we can find a specialist garage willing to do and if other people are interested do group thing to save money. Dustoir
Try asking here... there are far more A5 users and you'll probably get a wider response: Audi A5/S5 Owners Club - A5_OC
audi1.8tfsi
I had and still have the same problem. The lights are sealed units and I think if you wanted to buy them with DRL's fitted you would be looking at £1000. Audi should point out that 4 cylinder models don't come with these lights as standard.
mb
You should also have the self-levelling kit + headlight washers for a correct conversion (is meant to be an MOT failure without) which may or may not be options on your car ?

From my opinion, there are two way out: a, Change the 3.0 TDI headlight to your car. Because oem DRL LED is controlled by special control unit, if you change LED part only, it will be useless. P.S: The OEM LED control unit is like this: Audi Headlamp LED Ballast Controller|Driving with lights on during day (DRL) b, Change a set of aftermarket DRL to retrofit.
