Dr_Watson
My g/f just asked me to check her car. When you turn the key to the last position before starting the engine, you hear a single chime. On the dash you have the battery light on, EPC and the engine symbol. When you start the car, all lights are off. I tried it a few times and every time it chimes? It never done this before. I was thinking it could be a warning for fluid or something but so far I haven't found nowt! Anybody have an idea. It's a 2003 1.4 Polo.
m4ttm4son
I'm not familiar with this model myself, but a simple idea - Have you tried with/out the seatbelt fastened or door open/ closed etc?

cruiser647
Is it the below 4 Deg C warning thingy?
Cuprabob
This happens if the car is due a service. When it chimes check the LCD mileage display if a spanner symbol appears and it gives miles and days to next service. It does this for a few secs and then returns to normal mileage display
Dr_Watson
Thx guys Its not below 4 deg thing. Could be the service. I can't remember seeing a digital mileage readout. Prob best to pop into VW up the road and get them to check it quickly.
