Golf MKV ipod integration

Evening all. I'm new here.

I'm getting my new Golf GT Sport 170TDI delivered in the morning.... I ordered the ipod integration kit for it although I don't currently have an ipod - planning on getting one tomorrow too. I've heard that the new ipod nano doesn't charge on docking stations, does anyone know if that's the case with the VW ipod preperation too?

I've been reading a few posts on here about ipod integration with VWs on here. A few people have mentioned that artist and titles do not appear on the head unit & highline screen, is this the case?!

To be honest you are in a good position.. it should come with a manual with all the types of compatible iPods.. check the list and go and spend!

Welcome to TSN, Lynchburg. By the new Nano, I presume you mean the little square one? Mine docks and charges in the USB under the centre armrest, if that helps?

Jon - I think your nano might be a third gen, the new one is fourth gen (Apple - iPod nano). I've been reading a few comments on various websites that fourth gen nanos don't charge on docking stations. Think I may go for a third gen just to edge on the side of caution.
