We moor our boat at Salterns Marina and have a weekend place on Banks Road. It's a lovely part of the world, shame there are so many Audi drivers down there LOL. Only joking you're not all cocks, you're not as bad as M3 drivers LOL

I was beginning to warm to you but you've blown it now... ;)

Not enough for me though... passion, soul, heritage? Then we'd be talking....

Every marque needs to build upon humble sseds and that is exactly waht Lexus are doing now. With the cars of the future Lexus will develop into the most foreward thinking and innovative car makers in the world with no exception. Other manufactures are buying the 1st generation of Lexus Hybrid Drive Technology whilst Lexus are now on the 4th. Watch and learn yee of little faith!

Sorry, that should have said "seeds", before all you Audi english teachers start at me again.

True.

But Lexus is pricing itself as if it's already there... build the brand and build the price along the way +++

Lexus represents excellent value for money without all the price cutting that's going on at the moment. The sad fact is that you can now buy a brand new Lexus IS250 SR for only £18'990. The car should sell for more that £25'000 in a better economic climate. We've been reduced to selling a first class product for Mondeo money.

Now far be it for me to defend Lexus with having such a knowledgeable and helpful salesman now on the forum.:roflmao:

But Lexus has already shaken things up for the car market once. Remember the original LS400 anyone? Yes you know that car was built better than ANY rival at the time and made the 7 series, A8 and Jag XJ look like they were made decades ago. Really, compare any other top end exec from the same period and they didn't stand a chance.

Yes the styling was bland but it was excellent value (talk they didn't make much from the original model) and have continue to evolve since. Each and every manufacturer from that model forward had to raise their game. We ALL have a lot to be thankful for that original model. +++

If only they had a bit more passion then I might go for another. I've driven just about every model but the current lineup IS wise for me at the moment leaves me cold. 2.5 thats really poor and has a drink problem, a diesel that we really should mention or have an a Lexus its an Avensis engine nothing more nothing less and the sales are reflecting that.

Banter is good mate, but I'd suggest you don't take things to far. This is an increadibly popular thread that Lexus could indeed get hold of we have had similiar happen in the past. You could be a decent bloke for all we know but you just aren't coming across that way. :znalika: We will get a Tyresmoke sticker to you very soon, you should get it after your holidays. :secret::grin:

Lexus - good car for boring old men. I wouldnt buy one if you put a gun to my head. BTW similar Mercs, Bmws and Audis have lost even more money off the new ticket value and are much more desirable. You can get a 2008 Phaeton 3.0tdi with nice spec for £23k with 500 miles on the clock. That is what they are on for before you start bargaining.

Its going to be virtually imposible to convince people in europe that a Toyota with another badge is a realistic replacement for quality German metal.

Lexus is a marque in its own right now. No models are Toyotas even in the home market any more. +++

I can't believe I'm defending him or the marque .. look what you made me do.:ffs::grin:

Thats the perception me included. I know they are not the same cars obviously, I am talking brand perception and prestiege.......You ruined the insult !

Anyway moving on, I bet you can get a similar speced Mondeo for £5k less new at the moment as well. Maybe less. I think I would rather have the Mondeo.
