sharalaxy
Sad because apart from the real silly bits it was great, I actually checked back on Xmas day a few times, I read some out to the wife who woke up Boxing Day asking what Lexus Maindealer had been up to, that;s the extent of how good we thought it was. To be honest you could make a great comedy out of it. Hope he returns and most of all hope he's OK after all it was only ever a bit of fun. Teacake
None of the TSN team touched the posts. The user retracted his posts as it was possible, we've changed this setting now as it was an oversight. So if it's not normally policy to allow retractions, have you got a back-up? Scotty
Unfortunately the "web archive" site doesn't have anything. Although you can go back a long way : http://web.archive.org/web/20021211113209/www.tyresmoke.net/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?Cat= If someone's removed their posts, (quite legitimately - although due to a mistake) I'm not sure they could be restored Shame he popped in, removed them and didn't even say Hi or Bye
Muppetboy
Is it true that on the 48 hour test drive you have to arrange your own insurance? How inconvenient Not that anyone ever called me... :coffee:
Scotty
It says it's down to the individual and the dealer to sort out. In most cases the dealer would obviously cover it on theres but I guess this gives them an opt out.
Hopsta
Yes we have a backup and no we won't be using it just to restore his posts, it was his want to have them removed. Who else offers 48hr test drives then

burble
When I was adminning vB forums there was an easy way to restore a post that a user had deleted. An admin could see that the post was there, who deleted it, why and when and they could simply go back into the deleted post and undelete it. garcon magnifique
If those figures for Lexus are accurate it shows what a battering they're taking more or less completely because the IS220d is such a poor competitor to the 320d and A4 2.0TDI. The fact they have no diesel alternatives in their bigger models doesn't exactly help either. The new IS will be too late for several Lexus dealerships I fear. The IS isn't a bad bit of kit (esp used), but it doesn't exactly get the juices flowing compared to their German competitors when considered new. J_C
What must be more worrying for Lexus is the fact that in the US - their biggest market - sales fell by 32.4% last month. For reference, Audi were down 9.3%, BMW 40.2% and Mercedes-Benz 32.1%. Edited January 7, 2009 by J_C spelling
garcon magnifique
Audi must be doing something right, but I'm buggered if I know what it is... Are those figures just for Audi models, or for VW AG ?
