JonC
Hi Lou, welcome to TSN. It means that you can connect your i-pod to the car and listen to the downloaded tracks via the stereo system. Enjoy the Cooper S - they're fun cars. Cupramax
Hi, Welcome to TSN. If its got the Ipod interface you should just be able to plug it in and listen to the ipod via the cars sound system. You can also scroll through the ipod if its got the multifunction steeringwheel...
louboolicious
Thanks guys Cupramax it doesn't seem to have the multifunction steeringwheel! Is that an extra? Lou

louboolicious
i just checked the mini site and it doesnt have the ipod interface thats shown on there! Do u think its just because my car is a slightly older model?
gizze
It is well worth checking out MINI2 - MINI Forum - Fuel For Your MINI Obsession - MINI Cooper - S - One - Diesel - Works - Cabrio They know everything about Minis on there and will tell you exactly what it means. Great cars, we had an 05 one and loved it. Enjoy
craigyb
If it's like my mates mini, it has a fiber optic cable hidden behind a panel to connect the Ipod interface to. I don't know a lot about the mini, in fact I know nothing, but I know Dension sell a Gateway 500 for the mini which is the Ipod interface.
patently
BMW group often use the word "preparation" to indicate that the necessary cabling has been put in, but the crucial bit isn't there. The idea is that with the cabling present, adding the extra bit is easy instead of being an utter nightmare. You could always drop into a MINI dealership and ask how much ... just take a cushion to put behind you, in case.
