AlexM
Just read an group test from last year by Evo on the Scirocco where they timed it and said the 0-60 is actually 6.2 seconds which is .9 seconds faster that VW claim. Has anyone else found the the performace is better than quoted by VW? I was surprised to see that the quoted figures are slower than the Golf Gti when it has the new engine etc. Volkswagen Scirocco v BMW 123D v Mazda RX-8 v Volvo C30 T5 | Car Review Group Test | evo If this is acurate it should make the remaps interesting, could be a very quick little car. Pumazooma
Autocar did 6.7s. VW Driver magazine have clocked 5.6s Depends just how abusive the car magazines are. They almost certainly just dump the clutch which is not what your typical driver would do. Maybe VW quote 'brisk' acceleration times more akin to what a normal driver would do. wigit
a couple of sources have muted the 197bhp may be slightly conservative as well mine does run out of puff higher up the rev range, the car craves so more ponies
Mook
A decent remap will soon sort that out wigit

sotonjoe
I've heard rumours that VW are deliberately conservative in their test conditions for these 0-60 times. Some people say that VW load the cars with extra weight to simuulate a couple of adult passengers plus lugagge; this supposedly provides a more realistic ' real world' simulation of the cars' performance. I've also heard the bhp is a bit conservative too. I've seen a couple of cars rolling road results and the stock output was in the 220-230 range. It certainly feels quick :D

People on forums always come up with things like this. Truth is all bhp outputs can be slightly different even in the same model, car, or batch. Aslong as the car is quick enough for you try not to worry if vw say you have 197bhp but really they put 500bhp in the Roc just to be stealthy. jamrock
Hi Just got my vw scirocco 2.0 TSI (197BHP) re-mapped before getting it done it was doing 0-60 in 6.9 seconds top speed 148 mph. now its doing 0-60 in 5.9 seconds with the ESP on power is up to 235-240 BHP, I got a top speed of 156 mph well happy wondering what to do next :D

Gareth
Is re-mapping the DSG car still the problem it used to be? Manual gearbox cars (Mk V GTI etc) were fine but seem to recall the DSG cars were an issue for re-maps...??
Cuprabob
Plenty of people on here with remapped DSG cars therefore it can't be an issue although I do think the max torque figure has to be limited compared to the manual.

Manual gearbox cars (Mk V GTI etc) were fine but seem to recall the DSG cars were an issue for re-maps...?? superchips and aps have produced a remap for dsg rocs, no issues from the guys running them, power and torque have been ramped back slightly compared to the manual, we've compared performance of mapped manual/dsg and got a rolling road day to benckmark a number of cars

Woppum
I certainly thought the 210 was nippy enough. Almost 5yrs since i drove my old R32 but imagine the performance is similar or a little better in the Roccy, its a fair bit lighter! Can you heel and toe in VW's? Whats the pedal layout like? Anyone driven this and the Roccy R?
