JonC
When I read the thread title, I thought I'm sure that trading infants isn't exactly legal... Completley understand why your intending to sell, although it must be heart-wrenching. Still, even more heart-wrenching to see your loved ones in a pickle or even hurt, God forbid. Biscuits
Really glad to hear you and the family are ok Jon... cars are only "things" no matter how much you like them. Shame to see the R go, but don't blame you at all. I wonder about the same thing happening with the M, but don't do anything to hide where the keys are... prefer to have that argument with the insurance company at a later date! B. Merlot
A really sad statement of the times and your reaction is fully understandable. I thought that you had a Q7 as another car in any case? Whatever, a debadged RS6 could be a good plan.
_Tone_
Very sorry to hear about the news good luck with selling the car - wish I could buy it! Its time the law actually protected us with sentances that hit these bastards hard! Tone
Calm Chris
Sounds like you need to consider a fortified castle or similar property with CCTV, floodlights, mines, gun encasement's and 3 hungry security trained ridge backs. I'm sorry that your successful lifestyle seems to be constantly under the scrutiny of life's scumbags and for the sake of the family and peace of mind selling appears to be the best way forward. A nice debadged Q car (the RS6 would be perfect) and maybe consider membership of a car club for blasts in the exotic sports cars that you love to drive ? tom_hargreaves
When my cars got stolen I found that a few deterents can be whole heap of good, and like you I thought about changing the cars to stop attracting potential thieves. But then I thought why should I have to change the cars that I want, love and work my balls off for because of some mindless idiots wanting to steal them, (All of these points i'm sure you - and everybody else for that matter - can relate to). I just dug my heels in and fortified my house, very simply but effectively. I had some bollards put on the driveway which is a great visual put off. Also maybe a dummy CCTV camera and a sign saying "CCTV In Operation". These can make the world of difference. A brilliant thing I had done was a small, built-in lock and key on each door downstairs in my house. So if anybody gets into your house through 1 room, they can't get to the next one or get upstairs if you're asleep. Its time the law actually protected us with sentances that hit these bastards hard! The person who came into my house to get the car keys got sentenced to jail for quite a few years. Enough to put him off again I suspect put it that way Edited January 23, 2009 by tom_hargreaves

Torino101
Or you just need a new pet - doesn't need to be an aggressive animal, normally just their presence / noise will put off any intruder - but even the most placid, Doberman, Ridgeback etc, becomes a force to be reckoned with if it feels its "family" i.e. you are in danger:
