Hello chaps!

I seem to have water build up under the black cabin air intake box. This picture describes it better.... (black box to the left of the pic)

As per the instructions at the bottom of this page, labelled "Checking the cowl drains"...

audipages Unclogging the A8 Evaporator Drains

Does anyone know how to unclog this? I can't seem to get any flexible copper piping, and don't have access to compressed air.

Anyone have any ideas?

The Evaporator drains are accesed from the inside of the car by removing the centre console side carpets you will see the rubber orange right angle drains , but i suspect that the wing drains are blocked this is probably what is causing your water build up .

If you have a look up under both front wings at the top back corner you should see a rubber drain tube about a 2" inch long with a flared bottom these seem to block on my car very often almost every time i wash the car i seem to be unblocking them .

The copper tube i see in your picture looks like it might be about the right size to push up through the rubber drain and clear it . Hope this is of some help to you .

Hi sgtstrev, thanks for your reply! However, I think you may have mis-understood me. It's not the a/c pipes which are blockes, or the wheel arch drains. If you have a look at the audipages link, it's right at the bottom under "cowl drains".

There is another drain situated under the black intake box as shown in the picture above (the black mesh box towards the left). This is the drain which is blocked.

Flexible copper piping avail from B&Q (the type used for radiators at home) Not cheap about £17 for a roll. Follow the instructions posted online and it works a treat. Fill cowl with hose pipe. Poke around and whoosh....out will come all the water. The compressed air bit helps with making sure it is really clear.
