Apart from you have probably lost the battery meter and instrument cluster options in the 'car' menu...

I actually "lost" my phone as well.... Phone keeps searching for provider, but doesn't get through. Not sure what's wrong, trying to find someone with VAG-COM nearby.

Run the update again, it was the same on my A6, ran it again and it updated the phone module again and then all worked.

Well, I've tried, but all 6 updates seem to be ok, so I can't force it to do the update again. Strange thing, I get the signal indicator working, the car finds the original phone, but it keeps searcing for my service provider.

About 250 euros from a dealer

Thanks craigyb, that's the price to pay for doing things myself, and reading on forums on the net ;) All I wanted to do was get 3d navi and make things ready for graphical MMI and later on backup camera. Oh well :roflmao:

@craigyb: I'm sorry about all my questions, but can you help mw with a p/n please? Just came from the dealer, they told me the part was closer to €2.000,-, not €250,-....

OK, that is not the module I have told you about. In fact that module is not even bluetooth, it is the motorola handset that uses a SIM.

You have two options, replace the module or upgrade to genuine bluetooth and it's real easy on an A8.

OK, then it might be true that the module costs €2.000,-....

"Real" bluetooth seems to be the way to go! This is going to be great, installing yet another thing the dealer says can't be done....

  • 11 months later...

Old thread, but I'll give it a shot. Sold my '03 4.2 last summer, but I missed it so much that I bought a '04 3.7 a few weeks back. Apparently the same thing has happened to the phone in this car, as with my old 4.2 after sw upgrade. Think I want to use the original phone in the car (instead of installing bluetooth) and was wondering if someone could help me in the right direction. Could this be the defective module in my car (problem is the same as described above) and be the solution to my problem?: ORG AUDI TELEFON STEUERGERÄT MODUL MOTOROLA A8 4E0 bei eBay.de: Autoelektrik (endet 03.04.10 22:05:37 MESZ)

Best regards
