Does anyone can share experience about Battery Reset, I worry my car in limp mode (no fault code now after clear) but feel no turbo at all, that's why wanna take a chance to do battery reset see the car get better or same after do it, i went to garage 2 days ago they say most Audi can't just pull off power and reset, it will painful for you especially you don't have radio code and also the ECU will have to re-learn everything. I checked some website that my Concert II no need to worry radio code unless radio set is not same one come from the car. moreover, i was supprise why audi will bring us trouble just to do battery reset, many situation like battery dead might facing same problem. I not sure i should trust my garage word or not

Battery reset is simply to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes, and reconnect.

It is a crude way of reseting the fault codes, that Audi or a specialist would do with diagnostic software.

From your post, "no fault code now after clear" it sounds that this has already be been done so you might not have much to gain.

Typically, on disconnecting the car you will

Loose the one touch electric windows, which will require reteaching, by driving them fully down, then fully up.

Radio code occasionally dependant on model. With my sat nav plus , sometimes i have needed it, sometimes not.

The car will also go through a relearning process. Nothing to worry about, it just will over a period of time relearn, and recheck its internal settings, like fuel quality etc and set it self up accordingly.

Its worth a try, but it does sound like something else may be an issue. It might just take some driving for the car to recognise the fault and flag a fault code.

Thanks for quick prompt Paul, Also want to hear your comment about i am confusing my car in limp mode or not. Last month i was confusing my MAF was bad but end up it was just the hose leaking, during that time, i did couple time TBA via Vagcom. Now i have everything replaced, but feel the turbo not as punchy as before. That's why i am suspecting in Limp Mode becoz it had EPC and Engine Light up during the MAF/Hose problem in the pass. Now no code was show up becoz i been clear all via vagcom after replaced new hose, but heard from some post people has experience went to limp mode when car has been show engine light up????

By your reply that seems the car has to relearn all setting again. (like TBA) i only have to do reset unless i sure my car in limp mode. I really worry the radio code part becoz i don't had one right here when i bought my s3.

Without a fault code, it will be very difficult to diagnose, and potentially very expensive as you pay to change items that might not be required.

It might be cheaper to take it to Audi or a specialist, and agree an initial cost to diagnose, and take it from there.

Regarding radio code, I would imagine(but can not confirm), if it got lost, that Audi would probably be able to provide the code for a small fee, and proff of ownership such as your registration documents. Most manufactureres are able to offer this. I cannot see why Audi would be any different.

Alternatively, i believe there is devices you can buy, that plug into the cigarrette lighter, that keep it powered up via a 9v battery etc, but i have never used them.
