akira
So after many many questions on the forum with regards to my options with regards to upgrading the audio I've done the following: Amp Replacement with a JL Amp Clean Sweep DSP add on (hopefully sorting out the DAC's) Oh and on another note, I've put an Alpine DVD changer in and 7" Alpine Screens into the headrests for the kids. Amp being fitted Monday so I'll let you know how it all goes, hopefully it'll bring the best out of the speakers

SINGH
Do you guys have the Logic 7 sound system? Have you kept the original speakers? I have the Logic 7 in the 335D and find the Bose in a 12 year old A8 to be leagues ahead, BMW have changed some speakers but still no good
akira
I have the professional audio option which cannot be retro-fitted upto the individual option. Hence the route I'm taking. I think the speakers are OK in the 3 series but the amps are seriously lacking.
Biscuits
Who's doing the work for you? Screens in the back headrests would be fantastic in our 130i family wagon...

I've replaced the amp with a JL 6Channel one with a Cleansweep (DSP) and the improvement is immense. So you may wanna take that avenue rather than stripping down the whole car to replace the speakers.

Thaks akira I just bought the car last week and rushed it a bit, the dealer said it had audio upgrade and I didnt really worry to much about the sounds. well what a mistake a to make a! Thought i had a good price but looks like you did better with 35 on an 08 i paid 42 for 58 with 2900miles. BMW Elvet co durham quoted £275 for the alpine upgrade and 2.5 hours fitting so about £525 fitted. Not sure I would be able to carryout the work myself. How much did you pay for the 6 channel?
