mundella
Evening Guys, Last week I fitted DIS to my 2.5 TDI B7 and I was looking behind the instrument cluster to install pin 1 to ground to remedy the constant low washer warning signal (surprisingly enough, there was already a pin there from the original wiring loom). Foolishly, I re-connected the instrument cluster block connectors with the battery connected, followed by a lot of electronic clicking. > I checked the car with vag-com, about 50 various faults were logged and all have been cleared except cleared except for one- 19559 V157 motor for intake manifold flap (this fault has never been logged before). The emission light is constantly lit on the dash now but the car runs fine, no problems with economy, acceleration or shutting the engine down. > I´ve disconnected the battery and ECU connectors overnight, checked all the fuses in the dash, checked the voltage to the N18 EGR valve-12 volts, I`ve pulled off the vacuum pipe to the manfold flap at the N18 valve end and manually pulled a vac, no problems- it opens and closes with a quick metallic 'slapping' sound. But no luck, the fault is logged every time I do a check. > > Does anyone know what fault 19559- V157 motor for intake manifold flap actually means? Does it refer to the manifold flap/EGR valve itself or to the N18 valve that controls it? As far as I can see the manifold flap/EGR valve is just a mechanical part and is controlled by the N18 vac valve. > I´ve ran a V157 motor output test with vag-com, but I can´t tell if it´s working properly, there are no clicks or sounds- should I be hearing something during the test? I know thwt the N18 valve is electrically ok, so I would expect it to pull the manifold flap open and closed. All other engine output tests seem to work ok, flashing lights, clicks etc... > > It seems a bit odd that the fault has only been logged since connecting the instrument blocks with the battery connected, and with the car running fine I´m reluctant to start changing parts that might not be worn out. > > This one is driving me mad, I´d be grateful if anyone out there has any advice, Thanks, > >
