TT RS Test Drive

Well my Wife convinced me to go test drive the all new Audi TT RS at our local Stealers. The TT is her dream car and we currently have a Sprint Blue S3 Sportback. I said that when we came to change it she could have a TT and I'll get another motorcycle. Nice compromise I thought. I have been saying that it would have to be a quick one so as to tick all our Box's.

Well no sooner said then done we're booked in for a test drive. All be it a short 25 ml run. So today we went and My first impression seeing the car in the flesh was very much WOW! I'm not a great fan of the TT. though they are a really good car, a two seater doesn't do it for me. Now the TT RS looks like it's just about to beat you up but in a posh way. It was Black, sitting on optional 19" alloy's, It looked as broad as it was long. The salesman brought the car to the front and we were in and on our way.

I'd planned a couple of curvy B roads and a Duel carriageway. The first thing I noticed was how very sharp the brakes were, only requiring a very gentle press to pull you up, very reassuring. Turning onto the first B road and starting to stretch it's legs a bit. The noise the engine made was like a song from a men’s Welch choir suffering from a late night on the piss. Bloody fantastic. Starting with the base section then the tenors added there bit. Finishing with a baritone. Along side all of that the car just picked it's very faired skirt up and headed for the horizon with the same type of acceleration you'd expect from a R8. (yes I have been in one). The grip you would only describe as massive and it cornered very flat. Overtaking in 3rd and 4th was dispatched in a blink. And the pull from 2500RPM in any gear was great. We had a very short blast on the duel carriageway and we saw 3 figures speeds in no time at all. All be it for a brief second. This car could easily lose you your licence and possibly your liberty.

The car felt very muscular, The suspension was taught, the steering input was manly, If my S3 had a big brother this would be it. It took me back to the 80’s when Ur Quattro’s were running around Dolby Forrest munching up the opposition faster then a kid playing Packman on his Nintendo DS, The only bit that puts me off is the extra £13k you'd pay over the TTS and I don't think it's that much better, Would I buy one,

Yes I would!!!!
