DirtySmurf
Hi, Im Scott, Newbie here, signed up as i am in need of a braniac's advise on the fitament of a 1.8T Sharan Turbo My mum's turbo has recently blown and she needs to get another one, however finding a 2nd hand one is becoming nigh on impossible to find a new reconditioned unit has been quoted as costing in the region of £445 which is quite alot for us to try and find I have been told that the turbo from a fellow 1.8T 150bhp engine may fit, possibly from the passat or mk4 golf? if anyone has any knowledge on what turbo's will fit i would be hugely grateful as it may help in finding a good condition 2nd hand unit to put on the sharan the car is a 2000 X reg, 1.8T Auto Facelift Version with the AWC engine Engine Number: AWC001809 The Numbers taken from the turbo that has blow are incase they are of use for anyone who can find out any info on other turbo's from the VAG range that will fit: K03-047CG5018868 06A 145704H 5304 101 65080 Thank you in advance for anyone who can enlighten me at all as were in urgent need. cruiser647
Hi Scott, welcome to TSN! Do you know why the turbo blew? And if so, have you rectified that issue? There should be some on eBay. Like this one.........vw/audi/ 1.8 turbo K03 06A145704B KKK on eBay (end time 17-Aug-09 18:08:30 BST) I think the difference in part numbers is where the manufacturers have updated parts of them. Hope this helps.........

Hope this helps......... the previous owner had changed the oil pump, snaped the dowling in it and hammered a new one in,thus resulting in low oil pressure, thus resulting in the turbo going, i have since replaced the oil pump completely and had that tested to which its working fine so there should not be a reaccurance of the problem there can anyone comfirm that the turbo listed in the link will fit? dont want to buy a turbo that we then find out doesnt have the correct fitament for the sharan or will one from a 1.8t golf/a3/passat fit? cruiser647
If you call a VW stealer and give them the part number, then they will be able to tell you IF the part will fit. The part numbers are the same. Just the version letter is different. However, please ring the VW delaer or an indy specialist who will be able to confirm for you. Hope this helps!
