harminder
Hi all, I have insurance on my vehicle but need to get it taxed and MOT'd ASAP. Just wondering if I get the car MOT done, how quickly will it update on DVLA on-line so I can purchase the tax? If its real time, then in theory can I tax it straight after its passed the MOT? Anyone know/experienced the time delay before it updates online.. Cheers Harry
Sponge
Can't you just take the relevant paperwork, including your new MOT certificate, to the Post Office and buy the tax? You could go straight from the MOT station. Edited September 19, 2009 by Sponge
pontyslapper
Like Sponge said - nip down the Post Office! MOT updates is pretty much instant barring system downtime/failure. Had ours done in a garage about 15 minutes away - was on the internet by the time I'd got home. Don't know how the link to the car tax 'puter is handled - might be overnight, but I doubt it, so should be pretty instant as well!
