NEW 2011 BMW M5 F10 Nordschleife video:

Someone did a good job of stalking this car +++

With all the swirly camouflage, it's hard to tell much about the car's styling. You can expect it to follow the lead set by the new 5 Series Gran Turismo, though. Can you hear the turbo whine?

Strange, I put the title in CAPS and it all comes out lower case . . .

I saw an X1 on the back of a transporter the other day and I was really struggling with why anyone would buy one instead of an X3 (if you were in the market for a BMW softroader, that is).

New 5 series looks very current 3 series coupe-ish - still a great looking car though +++

Hang on, John - there's no snow, and it's still STUCK :P
I just came back from Egypt were temps were 27 deg, they dropped us in Newcastle instead of Gatwick:ffs:, then put us on coaches too Gatwick, once there I drove home, total time 23 hours NON stop.

Snow only just clearing here in norfolk. +++

PS) got a nice chest infection for the return fiasco.

Dr. Kay Sigler, head of BMW's M division has confirmed to no one's surprise that the next generation M5 would indeed use a twin-turbocharged V8 in place of the current model's V10. In fact, after last year's debut of the X5 M and X6 M we would have been quite shocked to see anything but the V8. While the 500 horsepower V10 in today's M5 is indeed powerful, in the years since its debut a number of even more powerful and, perhaps more importantly, torquier competitors have arrived.

The supercharged 6.2-litre V8 in the Cadillac CTS-V and the turbocharged V10 in the Audi RS6 easily thrash the output of the Munich V10. The 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 cranks out 555 hp and 500 pound-feet in the two SUVs, but we're betting BMW will find a way to squeeze out even more for the sedan.

It will certainly need more just to keep up, if it's based on the new 5 series I fear it's going weight an awful lot and be huge.:(

While at the stealers Saturday I saw the new 5 series close up, it's the size of an old 7 series :ffs:

I'm sure the new M5 will be stonking, but I'll let someone else take the hit before buying one. Which is exactly what I've done with my 57 plate M5, 21k on the clock, one owner and under half price.... :D

Yep I am looking at the M5 as the M3 just does not seem fast enough for me, the price will be a killer though 70+K basic I think, the Nissan GTR is really quick but TWO seats only :ffs:, nothing else out there YET;)

Maybe the F10 550i M Sport chipped could do the trick, anyone?.

I found the M3 lacked a bit of torque, but the sound, poise and handling made up for it when compared to tweaked 335i/d's. I'm sure a mapped 550i will be bloody fast, but still wont be an M car. Wonder what 'box they will put in the new M5 DCT or Auto?

Been a passenger in the 'Ring taxi twice and though the M5 was quick but driving one myself was quite an eye opener, it was substantialy quicker than my M3 and the SMG (no where near as good as an automatic at slow speeds!) was giggle inducing when you're hooning.

PS: Loving your alloys +++

Cheers mate, they are good to look at, IF I go the 550i route ( PDI 120 should be the same as M3) I will keep them and sell the car with the 18" anthracites I have as a spare set.

Whats your guess at the M5 price?.+++

PS) F10 M5 coming with modified M-DCT 7 speed box.
