shark_90
Take control of your tuning with the Shark Performance Self Tuning System. The new STS is a useful handheld device designed to give you control of your tuning. The STS allows you to switch between your standard and modified ECU map in minutes, and thanks to the intuitive user interface it is simple to use. Also included with the STS unit is an immobiliser function which will stop the engine from running, meaning the car cannot be driven even with the keys! Why would the STS be good for you? We are able to cater for these vehicles at our base in Mansfield but at this time cannot offer a switchable solution. These are being worked on now and will be released shortly. Hammer Train
Hi, I'm new to the forum and recently picked up a nice A3 1.8T yr 2000 AUM DBW. I'd like to get the Shark STS going, can I do this without having to come to you if so what's the cost at the moment and when can I get it?! I am looking to get a switchable map as I travel c.100miles a day and would like to not lose economy on the week but be able to max it out at weekends. It's a standard car except for a performance panel air filter... Let me know..

Tipex
Having been educated about how this mapping stuff works by Shark while driving half way across Europe, I'm not sure you'll want to take it off for your 100 mile daily commute, as you may find the car is actually more efficient with the new map! Anyway, I'm sure ben will be along shortly.
Mook
Hi, I'm new to the forum and recently picked up a nice A3 1.8T yr 2000 AUM DBW.I'd like to get the Shark STS going, can I do this without having to come to you if so what's the cost at the moment and when can I get it?! It's a standard car except for a performance panel air filter... Let me know.. The STS is a unit that's sent out to you, so yes, you can apply the remap without needing to visit Ben, which is one of the great things about it. Like Tipex says, though - I'd leave the map on, rather than taking in on and off - you'll get better economy with the remap. Pricing info is on Shark Performance - Volkswagen Audi Seat Skoda Mercedes BMW Ford Renault Tuning - the remap is £299 and the STS unit is £150. Just click on the Performance Tuning link when you get to the site and choose your car. Ben remapped my Passat 1.8T and it's made a lot of difference to low end grunt and the economy's improved by about 3% on the long term MPG reading. Welcome aboard As Mook has kindly added, you can order an STS over the phone and have it delivered to you which will save you the travelling. All it takes is a couple of emails and 10 minutes in the car and you're remapped The cost is £299 + £150 and postage is £7.99 for next day delivery. We're closing for a few days due to the annual homage to Le Mans but usually the STS unit can be with you next day and the remap is with you within 24 hours of us receiving your original map. If you'd like to give one of us a call on 0871 2211 281 some time tomorrow we can go through the details and answer any other questions you might have. [email protected]
Would this kit be able to handle a heavily modified S3 engine? My remapping knowledge is limited
shark_90
Would this kit be able to handle a heavily modified S3 engine? My remapping knowledge is limited The device is only uploading the map to the car, all the tuning is done by us as if you were at the workshop. With a heavily modified car we'd rather have the car ourselves to work on and make sure it's 100% before giving it back to you. There is no problem with having an STS device with a "low boost" map if desired, along with the immobiliser function
