Chris_B
Did you ever get on top of this? My guess would be faulty air injector pump (air is injected during fast idle at cold engine start) or pinched air pipes. I had an emissions control warning in DIS (yellow engine symbol) in the S8 because the secondary breather pipe had got pinched - any DIS symbols? johnny11
Hi Chris, hopefully yes have got the the bottom of it, the engine managment light came on the dash 2 weeks ago, so called out Audi assist, who came out plug in there tablet pc and scanned, which came up with the same fault codes as above. The guy was very helpful, he made a few phone calls (while looking at the yummy mummys at pick up time) to check his conclusion, which was the secondary air pump. He cleared all the fault codes, and the light hasn`t come back since, but i`ve ordered a secondary air pump and just waiting for this to be delivered, then will get it scanned again to see if this was the problem. Hows the C6 been? Edited April 8, 2010 by johnny11
Mo-S3
I have the same fault appear on my S5. Checked all the pipes and all ok. Cleared the fault code and has been fine. Can only think it was something to do with the 2ndary air pump
Chris_B
i`ve ordered a secondary air pump and just waiting for this to be delivered Hope that's it, and it's a simple fix. I wonder if it was anything to do with the cold weather as well, if you've had no more fault reports from the pump since. Could have been marginal, and a cold spell just tipped it over? The C6 has been an absolute blast - 32k miles in and still love the thing. Had to have the LED running lights replaced because the seals failed and water got in them, and after new tyres and an alignment the rear anti-roll bar was "worn" (I suspect "Bent" would be more accurate) but it still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.
