2009 Front End Bumper and Headlight Upgrade

I have just purchased a 2005 A6 2.7Tdi S line Avant with the original s-line front end (the one with the chrome strips above the fog lights) and would like to find out about the feasibility of upgrading to the 2009 S-Line front end complete with the LED headlamps.

Having read a few other posts I can't seem to find a definitive list of parts and costs.

My car has MMI high with the DVD sat Nav and CD changer in the Glovebox and also has colour DIS. There is also the option to have DRL on the MMI console as I have Bi-Xenons fitted with LED tail lights.

Does anyone know if the upgrade would be fairly straight forward and roughly how much it would cost?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Nelly,

I upgraded my 07 S-line to the new designed S-line one (09+).

There are very few parts you can actually donate over from the old bumper.

So you will need new foglights, foglight surrounds, headlight washer jets and bumper cover caps (if yours has the washers installed)

You can donate the grill though. - I think the bumper was about £700ish. The foglights about £150 a pair (not too sure on that) and the foglight surrounds where £25 each.

Then you will have to get is sprayed. (£200ish?)

I know that Craigyb got all the parts for his upgrade as well - He did the LED conversion too - but that IS expensive! - The lights alone are about £1000 and depending if yours has the xenons already, you may have to get extra bits n bobs.

Craigyb is good at upgrades as he's done pretty much everything going on his A6.

I would love to do the LED's and the new indicator mirrors on mine!

Thanks Dutchy for your information, I've seen the pictures of your car and it looks the dogs.

I do have xenons, but I would like to convert the bumper before I bite the bullet on the LEDs and spend serious cash. Reading through the forums, it appears that the RS6 headlights are easier to convert, but that will have to wait for another day.

Did you have to get the new 2009 bumper and fog lights etc. from a main dealer?

If so, do you happen to have the part numbers?

I am looking for audi part numbers for the following:-

2009 A6 S line bumper

2009 A6 S Line Foglights

2009 A6 S Line Fog light surrounds

Do you know if the bumper fits straight on without any adaptations as with the S6 bumper and the air con pipes?

Any help would be much appreciated.
