SINGH
You say change your rear blind so I am assuming you already have one fitted? Start by getting in the boot and undoing the rear speakers that are mounted on the parcel shelf, mine was done at A8 Parts as I stood around and it didn't take long at all. I am assuming you are changing the whole parcel shelf?
roger.hooper7
hi, yes i have a pre installed blind.i've got another parcel shelf with anotrher blind already fitted and would like to swop this shelf to my already installed shelf as my blind no longer works, but the new one does. ideally i'd like to just swop the blinds over and continue to use my current shelf. but i dont know whats involved. PsYcHe
I take it there's no obvious screw/clip points on the new one? Might be that you have to swap the shelf over with it in situ.. Though a call to a8parts will clear that up for you.
IT_S8
To remove the rear blind, you have to remove the parcel shelf. Note that removing the rear seat on a car with airbags will put the warning light on unless you disconnect the battery first, and if you're going to do that, make sure you have your radio code (or call your local Audi dealer who will give it you for free). Strictly speaking you should also cover the airbag connectors to insulate and protect them from accidently going off, like we always do..... honest. 1) Remove the lower rear seat squab (2 x philips screws) 2) Remove upper rear seat & Isofix mountings if later facelift. (various fairly obvious philips screws / 13mm bolts - Note the 2 x 10mm under the center headrest) 3) remove the 3 x 10mm bolts from the underside of the boot towards the rear of the parcelshelf, these hold the shelf down 4) As Singh says, remove the speakers, 4 x philips screws for each speaker cover and 2 x philips screws for each speaker. Push the speakers up and out, disconnect their wires and put them somewhere safe - the metal scratches real easy 5) There are 3 plastic poppers along the front edge of the parcel shelf holding it back against the window, remove these and shes free. Now, just ease it up and out - Watch the 3 x 10mm lugs on the underside, you need to push these up to let it come out.... Once out, changing the mechanism over will look easy, and refitting is the reversal of removal. Enjoy Edit - Just noted you're a prefacelift - Sounds obvious, but the parcel shelves are different pre and post face as post face has a hole for center seatbelt, but the mechanism inside should be identical...
