benny9876
Hey, I own a Golf Gti 2.0 8v. Iv had the car for just over 2 years and in this time iv had 4 coilpacks fitted. For some reason they just keep burning out and i dont know y. Then also sometimes as i come to a stop and im busy braking, "sometimes" the revs just drop and the car switches off and i hav to start it up again. If anyone knows what the solution to this could be plz rply, thanx.
cruiser647
Hi! Welcome to TSN When was the last time it was serviced? Do you have the correct spark plugs fitted? - Might be worth changing them anyway. Also, clean the throttle body if you can (air intake into the engine), that usually gets filthy with oil/gunk and can block air pass through pipes. Clean it with cloth and either carb cleaner or alcohol!

cruiser647
You might want ro replace the air filter too. Good luck!
burble
It could be a cam position sensor that's causing the problem, I saw a similar thing on my girlfriends Corsa.
benny9876
i took my car away n found that my throttle was quite dirty, so i got that cleaned n got my forks checked as well as a diagnostic check which brought up 4 fualt codes, of which 3 was erased. Something of a potentiometer, throttle position sensor and something to do with the air flow. car seems to be much better but still monitoring Thanx guys
